Ds (4) came up to me in the garden. He stood there and said, 'I'm your husband'. (I don't have a partner)

I said, 'Oh, lovely', and he stood there proudly with hands on hips, tummy stuck out, and in this funny deep little voice, he said, 'Well, now, Dear. What would you like for breakfast?'

I couldn't help laughing but did calm down and asked for fried eggs on toast, which he duly made me from leaves and daisies.

!

'I'm a great husband aren't I mummy?'
'Perfect, love. Perfect.'

I had to hurry to say goodbye to my dd (6)at school this morning cos I was going on to have my eyebrows waxed and shaped - I told dd I had to hurry to make the appointment and she started to cry asking "why do you have to change your eyebrows?" to which I replied "to make me look pretty" - she then sobbed and said "but you're pretty as you are Mummy - you're perfect"
Awwwww she says all the right things

mummyplonk · 08/06/2007 20:53

Aww, there are some lovely things here. Ds1 Has just started talking and pointed to the rather grainy black and white scan photo today of himself and said
"Look mummy, frog!"

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 08/06/2007 23:37

Yeahinaminute - bless your dd, she sounds wonderful.

My dd1 (2.8 yo) has made me feel miles better about myself this week. Everytime I finish dressing she says "You look beautiful, Mummy." This couldn't have come at a better time as I have been feeling pretty low about myself after a woman made horrible comments about my appearance.

You've got to love these childrens sense of timing.

misspiggy · 08/06/2007 23:59

DS2 (11 yo) says "goodnight" I say "goodnight, love you darling" to which he replies "I love you more because you're funny, nice, watch Dr Who with me and make the best bolognaise ever"

I dissolve into happy tears quietly (definitely nothing to do with the 3 glasses of Shiraz I've had to compensate for crap week!!) and lovely DS2 goes to bed.

Awww.....

DD going through very cute phase at the moment (4.9)

"mummy, you haven't got a granny have you?"
Me "no darling she died a long long time ago"
DD "Oh it's ok mummy, you can share my granny"

Also, DS is ill at the moment and she drew a picture of her in a lovely dress and wrote "di theo love you love issy" She said "I sounded out the word Dear cos I didn't know how to write it, it's D I isn't it mummy?"

Also, at teatime yesterday "Why doesn't Theo have any eyebrowells" (he does! but they are little and babyish and blonde)

To add to my families cuteness (and writing this is cathartic as I have been at the end of my tether as DS is so whiny whilst ill). DS has suddenly developed empathy at 13 months. We were watching you've been framed last week and he was laughing because we were, but then everytime he saw someone fall over, or crash or whatever, he burst out crying and pointed at the television. He also cried when DD fell over in the garden, although she was laughing about it.

ThomCat · 09/06/2007 10:26

They've only been up an hour so that was pretty bloody sweet of them!

Other than that - DD1 shouting out 'Postman's here' as the mail hit the mat had us both laughing stright off, then coming in and saying 'Larlott wake, Eve wake, daddy wake, mummy wake, huirray, orning everybody' was pretty sweet too. Then saying 'milk, betabix, toat, okay, comeon ,mummy follow meeeeee'!

Absolutley everything DD2 does is sweet, she's utterly adorable!

Boco · 09/06/2007 10:37

Lolalasagne my dd2 calls eyebrows 'eyebrowsers'

munchkinmum · 09/06/2007 22:25

My DD (3) on request NOT to pick her nose looked at me in total innocence and said, 'but mummy, I was just getting a bogey out!'.

Couldn't help but laugh!
