Ds (4) came up to me in the garden. He stood there and said, 'I'm your husband'. (I don't have a partner)

I said, 'Oh, lovely', and he stood there proudly with hands on hips, tummy stuck out, and in this funny deep little voice, he said, 'Well, now, Dear. What would you like for breakfast?'

I couldn't help laughing but did calm down and asked for fried eggs on toast, which he duly made me from leaves and daisies.

!

'I'm a great husband aren't I mummy?'
'Perfect, love. Perfect.'

Ha ha AL, that reminds me of this morning when DS overslept (yesssss!) and so did we and so we were all late for work and nursery and haring around half-naked. DS coolly remarked "Where mummy's top?"

LuckyMama · 06/06/2007 15:51

Oj went to look out of the window this morning when he heard the bin men arrive and shouted BIN MEN at me for the first time pointing out of the window! He then insisted that the bin be brought back into the garden and proceeded to point out where it lives!

DS doesn't often see his daddy in the mornings but today DP went in a bit later and got DS out of bed and brought him into our room. As he was leaving he bent to kiss DS and DS clasped DP's face with both hands, looked him in the eye and earnestly said "Bah" with a huge grin. DS is 7 months. I thought it was very cute

My dd is trying to stop me weaning ds. Whenever I try to spoon something in she goes 'No carrot, baby - too young!' very sternly.

(He's 6 months, so it's not like she's just trying to make sure I follow govt weaning advice.)

TheGoddessBlossom · 06/06/2007 20:32

DS2 (10 months)has learnt to kiss. Puckers up, turns his face upwards, looks you in the eye and delivers on request. I melt.

seamonster · 06/06/2007 20:36

ds1 mopped the floor for me today. He offered not because it was filthy enough for an 8 yr old to mind but because he knows I do it when the others are in bed and today my back hurts.

Rachmumoftwo · 06/06/2007 20:49

DD age 5 is going on a school trip tomorrow and wants me to make sure her teacher doesn't leave her on the coach if she falls asleep. She is worried about being lost. Sweet but also a little sad, so I will have to tell her teacher not to forget her!

fireflyfairy2 · 06/06/2007 20:53

went to sleep

Boco · 06/06/2007 20:57

DD2 (2) was playing with dd1s playmobil camper van this eveing, she lined everything up very carefully, came and lead me in to see, and said 'ta dah - welcome to the moozeum! Let the fun times begin!'

bramblina · 07/06/2007 23:21

Ds (22m) picked me and a friend a daisy.

Desiderata · 07/06/2007 23:26

OK - there's a lady that goes to the playground with her dd that I don't particularly like. I've no idea why I don't (she's probably a really nice woman), but whenever I try to talk to her, she just blanks me.

I know ... probably shy, etc.

Naturally, I have not communicated this to my 2.6 yo ds.

Today, he asked me to go down the slide after him. I obliged.

He then said, in a very loud voice, 'That lady over there wouldn't be able to do that because she's got a much bigger bottom than you, mummy.'

Unwittingly very rude, of course (and he isn't a rude kid by nature) .. but utterly priceless to me.

Got another one...! got in yesterday after big food shop with DS, he started playing while i had a cup of tea and read the paper nearby - I told him I had to sit down for a little rest but would play with him in a bit. Then I leaped up to catch him as he was climbing on a chair and about to fall off. He calmly took me by the hand, led me back to the sofa, put the paper back in my hand and said "No, Mummy sit! Mummy read!"

snowleopard · 08/06/2007 10:42

I LOVE yours Desiderata!

mummydoit · 08/06/2007 11:12

DS2 often says 'Mummy, you make me happy and laugh'. I tell my two DSs they're my best boys and they often tell me I'm their best boy too.

tinytotmummy · 08/06/2007 11:42

DD(2.5) last night while watching holby city - "what's wrong with her?" (aimed at Diane bawling her eyes out) I said "she's a bit upset", to which DD replied "she needs a noo-noo don't she?"

After a big effort to try and get DS (3.9) and DD to tidy their toys, very early the other morning DS turned to DD, held both her hands and said very sternly "DD,DD I need to talk to you. When we make a mess today we must tidy up, ok?"
I thought it was soo sweet

indiasmum · 08/06/2007 12:11

yesterday i had some new shoes on, dd (2.5) saw them and started wittering away in her very very almost- inaudible- its- so -high voice

'ooh mummy i like yours shoes, they are your new shoes. they are very pretty shoes mummy. when i'm a big lady like you i can wear yours shoes. you put them in a box for me for when i'm a big lady like you mummy'. bless. she's very very vocal and very very girly

bigmouthstrikesagain · 08/06/2007 13:31

Last night I was calling dh for dinner i was in the kitchen - dd (14m) was tottering around and she went off towards living room - she came back with dh in tow - apprently she went to his study (off the living room) and grabbed his hand saying "did-dah, did-dah" ... it is lovely watching your children develop their communication skills.

ledodgy · 08/06/2007 13:34

Last night when I was reading to her 4 year old dd said to me
"Mummy what does complicated mean?"
I told her it meant hard.
"This wall is complicated mummy" she said.

DANCESwithnewlytannedlegs · 08/06/2007 13:36

I've just overheard this...

DS (2yrs) 'I luff oo DD'
DD (4yrs) 'I love you too DS'
together 'aaaaah' as they hugged each other

We're off to Devon tomorrow on holiday - DD (4) is inside out with excitement ....

DD: Ooh mummy I just can't wait

Me: I know love - lamb it'll be brilliant, lots of walks and ice cream and playing on the beach

DD: Will we see them all then?

Me Eh? see who?

DD: Catriona, Andrew and my Grandads and other grandma (C and A are her stillborn sister and brother)

Me: why would we see them darling??

DD: coz you told me they were in Devon and I want to play with them

Me: No love, HEAVEN I said HEAVEN

Sweetheart was quite upset she wouldn't be able to share her toys with them So we had big cuddles and promises of late nights and banned foodstuffs!!!

Stonekoldsgirl · 08/06/2007 14:15

My DS (9mths)gave me, what seems like, a cuddle. I picked him up and out his arms went round either side of my neck and he buried his head into my neck! It was a cuddle to me!!!

JulesJules · 08/06/2007 14:52

DD1 when about 18months and still being bf, big sigh, patted my boob and said Mummy I love your boobs, they're so STYLITCH!

JulesJules · 08/06/2007 14:56

oops, that obviously wasn't today, sorry. Still sweet tho'

MascaraOHara · 08/06/2007 14:59

How sweet.

I haven't seen dd since this morning so not much time for sweetness but thisd morning she came upstairs after breakfast and started getting her own school uniform out of the wardrobe without being asked.. that was lovely.
