With heavy wetting ds we have now found our ultimate nappy and wrap combos are:

Daytime: Bamboozle, fleece liner and tots wrap
Nightime: Fluffle, boosted under the fleece with a muslin, and a bummis popper wrap over the top- chunky but oh so snuggleable!!!

What are your combos- everyone seems to swear by different things!

Wambamboo/bambineo with homemade fleece liner and Motherease rikki wrap - v slim fitting and absorbant.

Haven't been brave enough to use cloth at night yet as DS (11wks) wees and feeds for England, but have just received a baby beehinds bamboo which looks like it could do the job... No idea which nightime wrap I should use tho', only ever used Motherease??

snugglebumnappies · 04/06/2007 11:56

Ohh the Baby BeeHinds bamboo is a good night time nappy, I would use a tots fleece or a wool wrap (Baby BeeHinds have a wool wrap) with it at night.

I use just about anything and everything during the day with a Motherease Airflow and at night I like Ella's House Bumhuggers with a Tots Fleece wrap

Washersaurus · 04/06/2007 12:02

Oooh I find these threads so interesting

We use....

DAY: Diddy diaper or tots bots original nappy with fleece liner and Nature babies popper wrap.....And Motherease onesize nappies for nursery and change bag

NIGHT: Tots bots original with fleece liner, and a microfibre booster put between nappy and fleece wrap (we use either Tots bots redwrap or Stacinator fleece wraps)

Its getting a bit hot on a night though so looking for slimer alternatives. Oh its all good fun! I am finally going to get my hands on some pea pods this week so things might change whooo hooo - fluffy post on its way!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went into a ramble there didnt i?

SBN - DS wearing the baby beehinds bamboo right now - it's too gorgeous to cover up with a wrap! Does it still fit your older child - do you think it will last til potty training?

snugglebumnappies · 04/06/2007 14:44

Amazonian, the Baby BeeHinds fits DD well, she is 27 months, with a long body and slim (obv doesn't get that fro me ) I think it will last her well untill potty traiing as the rise is quite high (she has buildewrs bum with size 2 Tots now ). I guess it all depends on the build of a child as to whether the nappy will fit 'till potty training as she is well within the weight range for size 2 TBs but they are now a poor fit on her.

amazonianwoman · 04/06/2007 15:37

She sounds like same build as my DD, DS seems to be heading that way too, v long but not too wide.

So would a tots fleece wrap work OK at night - I can't believe they don't get soaking wet? Can't afford a wool one yet (and it sounds a bit daunting) but might just brave a fleece one

Indith · 04/06/2007 15:40

Recently become a total terry covert so:

Bright bots terry (def fave, prefer to my little ewes), fleece liner and ME airflow wrap.

For nights slightly boosted with half and old terry.

kreamkrackers · 04/06/2007 16:07

i'm new to the reusable nappies.

i have bought bambineo's with poppers and a motherease airflow wrap. they're great. managing fine by throwing the nappies in the wash every night.

just bought some fleece wraps from ebay, ann's handcrafts, they're so cute and cheap. will probably use these at night time or when i want to show off dd2's bottom

i've bought paper and fleece liners and i'd say the fleece liners are much better.

wish i'd known more about reusable nappies when i was pregnant with dd1. they're much better and i'd reccomend anyone to change to them.

Flame · 04/06/2007 16:34

How are they going KK - have you tried them on your DD1 at all yet?

For me... I have too many

Bambineo with wool of some sort(paper liner, he is allergic to the fleece)

Baby Bufters with wool of some sort

Quick Flip Light

Fuzzis & swaddlebees pockets too.

Nights..............

Boosted fluffle, boosted bambineo, boosted quick flip or boosted bamboo baby bufters

(Gave up mentioning the wool as that is what I tend to use most of the time).

snugglebumnappies · 04/06/2007 16:48

Amazonian, the Tots fleece wraps work fine on both of mine and really aren't soaking in the morning, both can wee for England. The baby beeHinds wool wrap is quite a cheap one though, about £3 more than a Tots Bots fleece.

tutu100 · 04/06/2007 17:00

I noticed the other day that natural child were selling a disana wool wrapquite cheaply iirc about £9.

NineUnlikelyTales · 04/06/2007 17:13

I'm so boring. DS wears Onelife nappies and wraps for daytime and night and they suit us really well. Oh and the onelife paper liners too.

I do have some sort of cotton booster thingies for nighttime given to me by a friend..white with purple blanket stitch round them.

kreamkrackers · 04/06/2007 17:55

hi flame

tried the nappies and wraps with dd1, they both fit really well. need to see whether the incontinence team will fund her or whether i'll be putting more nappies on the credit card

the only problem i'm having is dp moaning about reusable, luckily he doesn't know how much i've spent so far

amazonianwoman · 04/06/2007 21:23

Snuggle - hmm, not a bad price for the baby beehinds wool wrap , and it looks quite normal too (bit put off by the long legged wooly types!) Do you need anything special to wash it? Would you say it is better for nights than a tots fleece?

I can feel another order coming on...

oops, getting too excited at thought of ordering more nappies

accessorizewithbabysick · 04/06/2007 22:50

You've gotten over losing the fuzzi's then, aw?

Anyone, can I use a sleeping bag with a fleece wrap? I'd like to stop using airflows at night (but it's all I have at present, want to buy a tots rainbow). I've got some huge loose sleepsuits to go underneath, but worried that the sleeping bag will get wet?

I found a nature babies classic cover in aplix went really well with a wbb, but he's just outgrown the wrap. Created a nice slim look.

Flame · 04/06/2007 23:03

It doesn't get wet, but it does get a little stinky sometimes.

accessorizewithbabysick · 04/06/2007 23:05

I can deal with stinky I have 4 sleeping bags anyway as he throws up on them every morning. Thanks, Flame, you're such a star!

Flame · 04/06/2007 23:07

I know I am

amazonianwoman · 05/06/2007 08:30

AQ - no still and at losing fuzzis. I think they may be in the garage (DH's fault) so he'll have to find them

Am loving cloth nappies much more this time round

Flame · 05/06/2007 08:38

I'm loving them more this time too! I can't believe I switchd DD to disp pull ups so early (although that was heavily influenced by friends).

Hate the idea of DS potty training now

amazonianwoman · 05/06/2007 08:40

All my friends (bar one who uses cloth) think I'm mad - they think his bottom looks silly, I don't even notice, and all my nappies are slim ones anyway. Fickle

snugglebumnappies · 05/06/2007 08:54

Amazonian, this is what Baby BeeHinds say about care for their wool wrap

Wool covers require some extra care. In order for your wool cover to perform its best, it needs to be ?lanolised?. Lanolin is the natural oil found in wool that helps to keep sheep dry in the rain. The wool needs to have this lanolin replenished every couple of weeks to maintain its leak proof abilities. The best product to use during this process is ?Lansinoh?, which is sold at chemists. It is the purest form of lanolin available and is completely natural and hypoallergenic.
Lanolising is actually a very easy process! Simply fill a bucket or sink with about 5cm of very hot water, than add a pea-sized amount of pure lanolin and mix to melt and disperse. Once the lanolin is melted and evenly dispersed throughout the hot water, add enough cold water to make it luke-warm then submerge your cover and leave to soak for around half an hour. It does not matter if it is left longer- some people choose to soak overnight.
When you are ready to remove the cover, do not rinse it, just squeeze out the excess water by hand. Following this, roll your cover up in a towel to remove as much moisture as possible, and then hang your cover in the shade to dry.
BeeHinds wool covers only need washing every few weeks! (Providing they are not soiled and have been lanolised well enough). When you change your baby?s nappy, hang the wool cover to air dry until you next need to use it again (it is best to alternate between covers when using wool). The lanolin in the wool neutralizes the urine, meaning your cover is ?self-cleaning?! You only need to wash your cover if it becomes soiled, stinky or dirty, or when it requires re-lanolising. If your baby is a heavy wetter with very strong urine, you will probably need to lanolise more regularly.
Baby BeeHinds wool covers are fully machine washable, on the gentle cycle, inside a laundry or delicates bag. Make sure you attached the Velcro to the washing tabs inside the cover so that it does not catch on other items in the wash or on its own binding. Make sure you only use cold water to wash in (you could wash them in with your clothes). If you prefer, you may choose to wash by hand in luke warm water using soap flakes or wool wash (ideal). These are nice and gentle on the natural fibers of the wool. Once it is clean, rinse well under cool water, lanolise, and then hang in the shade to dry.

It's really not a major job and if you have a tube of Lansinoh hanging around you have all you need anywayy

I ldo like the woven wool wraps like thw Baby BeeHinds, have some lovely Sugar Peas ones but they don't seem to make them any more I am just trialing a knitted wool birth to potty wrap on my two at the moment, however it will be a fair bit more expensive as birth to potty always are!
