What sorted out your baby's cradle cap?

With DD1, I just left it - but baby DS"s is quite unsightly as he doesn't have much hair.

Did you use oil? Medicated shampoo? Or is it really best just left?

Just a good ole shampoo and combed it out with a soft toothbrush :3

giveitfive · 10/08/2018 18:37

Time.

Moogoo scalp cream sorted my wee boy’s out, after I’d tried loads of other things (oils, creams and shampoos). Worked very quickly and has nice gentle ingredients, no chemical nasties.

Head and shoulders once she’d turned one. Just rubbed it on and rinsed rather than washing the hair . Once was enough!

piggywiggywoowoo · 10/08/2018 18:55

Epiderm worked really quickly with my daughter!

mrsjackrussell · 10/08/2018 18:59

Olive oil as others have said. So satisfying when it all comes off

Sidneythecam · 10/08/2018 18:59

Cradle cap was my favourite part of having a baby

I picked it off

Naughty1205 · 10/08/2018 19:00

Ds had bad cradle cap. Tried everything. Then got MooGoo scalp cream. It worked brilliantly and he was clear within 2 days. Highly recommend it.

BertieBotts · 10/08/2018 19:01

Dentinox cradle cap shampoo worked for us. Smells nice too :)

Pastaagain78 · 10/08/2018 19:01

Dentenox shampoo. Works a treat and not greasy, smells lovely too

SassitudeandSparkle · 10/08/2018 19:06

Another Dentinox user here! Love the smell!

INeedNewShoes · 10/08/2018 19:11

My GP suggested applying vaseline just before bath then washing hair. It worked really well!

MarmaLaid · 10/08/2018 19:12

Another for Dentinox

Mindchilder · 10/08/2018 19:13

Oil and nit comb.

CottonSock · 10/08/2018 19:15

Dentinox shampoo and lift it off.. hair comes out so I did it gradually. She was covered. Now use dentinox to keep on top of it and lift off a few scabs at a time. It does come back

DiabolicalMess · 10/08/2018 19:17

Another one for Vaseline left on over night. I think I did this twice and it never came back. Very satisfying indeed!

Helpmemyhairisterrible · 10/08/2018 19:20

I've just had good results with Biore baking soda facial scrub (very gentle) and Child's Farm baby moisturiser afterwards. Maintaining it with Dentinox now. So far so good!

PrincessConsuelaBannanaHammock · 10/08/2018 19:20

Yep I left Vaseline on over night too. Brushed out with a baby brush in the morning then washed. Think I only had to do this twice and it was gone Smile

Rach000 · 10/08/2018 19:25

I would say coconut oil as well. I did it recently on my baby and 3 year old. They were both fairly mild, as that's why I had left the 3 year olds but I was surprised how easily it went soft and brushed out.

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 10/08/2018 19:36

I bought the own brand cream from boots. I used to run it on a little then put a hat on DD and let it soak in and it would come off quite well in a warm bath.

BikeRunSki · 10/08/2018 19:38

Boots cradle cap cream, which is mainly almond oil

PurpleWithRed · 10/08/2018 19:40

Head and shoulders! DC2 obviously, PFB got gentle stroking with extra virgin olive oil and a silk cloth which didn't work (not exaggerating much, and the H&S is definitely true, and it worked a treat).

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 10/08/2018 20:11

Tried coconut oil and baby comb and quite a lot came off so may try that once every few days.

It was very sporny.

Capasal shampoo beat dentinox and olive/coconut oil for my two. Was too scared of the risk of scalp scarring to pick (depriving myself of a lot of potential fun by the sound of it).

LoughingLikeAShark · 10/08/2018 20:15

Usee dentinox daily as soon as the slightest sign of it appeared - I have tripopophobia and couldn't cope with being afraid of my own baby's scalp! Never had any cradle cap or irritation of any kind since.
