as he pours too much milk in hide under the table and pretend to be the weetabix
"help! help! im drowning!!!"

FrannyandZooey · 17/05/2007 09:39

Lummox

apologies, wasn't trying to be even slightly patronising

yes we put the milk away every time we use it. We get our cups of tea, put milk in, put in fridge. Get cereal, put milk in, put in fridge. It hasn't caused us great discomfort so far, but I am sorry if this is a controversial view

(honestly was not trying to be arsey, just misguidedly funny)

lummox · 17/05/2007 09:40

np - the 'no' approach is pretty much what i do.

but what would the book say?

LittleMouseWithCLogsOn · 17/05/2007 09:40

we do too

nailpolish · 17/05/2007 09:41

we have jug on the table ala pauline fowler
bt dh refused to use it cos he likes his milk ice cold - apparently being on the table for one minute makes it warm

FrannyandZooey · 17/05/2007 09:42

I am feeling kind of jealous of Lummox's epic breakfasts that require multiple cups of tea and copious milk, tbh

lummox · 17/05/2007 09:43

doh - cross posted.

F&Z - sorry, bit sleep deprived. ds2 is four months, and I'm usually also bfing him during breakfast. so the chance of actually getting a vaguely warm cup of tea ever are pretty low, and if i had to keep going to the fridge...

100x - i'm not sure he is going to read a note, as he's not two yet, but could give it a go...

lummox · 17/05/2007 09:44

np - now the drowning weetabix idea is genius. roll on tomorrow.

nailpolish · 17/05/2007 09:44

he will giggle

FrannyandZooey · 17/05/2007 09:45

Sorry lummox I am rarely trying to be mean on purpose

I would wear a large apron and keep the milk hidden in one of the pockets

you could pop ds2 in there as well in between feeds

FrannyandZooey · 17/05/2007 09:46

how about hiding the milk under the table?

ahundredtimes · 17/05/2007 09:58

No giggling isn't part of the programme lummox. This is serious. And it'll work. Go big with the notes.

nailpolish · 17/05/2007 09:59

whats wrong with giggling?
its not boot camp fgs

ahundredtimes · 17/05/2007 10:04

Yes it is

WhoBuiltTheArkNoahNoah · 17/05/2007 10:04

arf

nailpolish · 17/05/2007 10:05

tsk!

lummox · 17/05/2007 10:52

F&Z - we could just move breakfast under the table i guess. the novelty would probably take his mind off the whole milk thing for a bit. wonder if i could get a kangaroo apron?

100x - will go in hard with the notes option and ban giggling except at set times. may also investigate the possibility of boarding school.

ThereMustBeMoreToLife · 17/05/2007 16:26

Oh my God, I've been thinking this way of speaking to children sounds so familiar, but I couldn't put myfinger on why...

It has suddenly come back to me, This is exactly how my parents talked to us as kids and still talk to us!!! They must have been ahead of their time.

They especially like the say it in one word method, and I have to admit it is rather effective, they managed to control six kids pretty well!

CODalmighty · 17/05/2007 16:27

lol

MamaG · 17/05/2007 16:27
