well my ds fetches sticks as well and helps blind people across the road

lummox · 17/05/2007 08:49

thanks Mrs A - think that he might be too little as i don't think he would grasp why that couldn't happen.

in fact it might just give him ideas.....

FrannyandZooey · 17/05/2007 08:50

Lummox put the right amount of milk into a small jug and let him pour it all in

lummox · 17/05/2007 08:54

Have tried that F&Z - he likes pouring his own milk in (and water and anything else liquid) but after doing that he then wants the bottle of milk (we're classy in our house) that is on the table.

I guess we could keep putting the bottle back in the fridge, but that would be a pain.

FrannyandZooey · 17/05/2007 08:56

Oh yes

I didn't point out the milk bottle needs to go away because I thought it was

erm

I shall be quiet now

MrsApron · 17/05/2007 08:58

lummox get him up at the sink pouring with various receptacles. towel underneath .

He will love it and it is educational .

My 3 year old has been washing dishes for 3 months she started doing this lol!

lummox · 17/05/2007 09:29

F&Z - do you seriously put the milk away every time you use it?

We all have breakfast together - so that would mean that dh & I would have to get the milk out of the fridge every time we wanted a cup of tea/some milk for cereal/etc.

Would you really do that?

Could that possible be too obvious for words?

Mrs A - great idea! We already have a table outside with a box of lots of plastic bits and pieces to pour from, but getting the washing up sounds good.

nailpolish · 17/05/2007 09:30

lummox - get a milk jug, then you only put in htat what is required

like the one pauline fowler has

they are very pretty too

nailpolish · 17/05/2007 09:30

or get ds his OWN milk jug
how much would he love that!

lummox · 17/05/2007 09:31

hmm - have just re-read that. possibly my response to F&Z a bit out of an out of proportion reaction to mildly patronising post.

lummox · 17/05/2007 09:32

but wouldn't i still have to put the milk away, np?

mind, ds1 would love his own milk jug.

LittleMouseWithCLogsOn · 17/05/2007 09:32

we had one for a while

OP posts:
nailpolish · 17/05/2007 09:33

ok

get a jug - put half a pint in or wahtever you need for the entire breakfast
get ds his own jug
or get everyone inidvidual milk jugs

lummox · 17/05/2007 09:34

feel like i'm being difficult here - but ds1 would want to put all the milk from the big jug into his weetabix.

EnidTheInvisible · 17/05/2007 09:35

milk jug

we have one for the dds breakfast

EnidTheInvisible · 17/05/2007 09:35

put the right amount in

LittleMouseWithCLogsOn · 17/05/2007 09:36

agree
oi enid
go to look liek thread

OP posts:
nailpolish · 17/05/2007 09:36

lummox - you just have to tell him no
give him his own jug and thats that
let him choose one, and tell him the other jug is for everyone else
or get everyone their own jug

ahundredtimes · 17/05/2007 09:38

Do the talk lummox. Go back to op, so-
there's too much milk in your bowl. your weetabix are flooded. FLOOD. I don't like wading in mild.
Write a note for the next morning stick it on the blardy bottle or milk jug or whatever - 'DON'T POUR TOO MUCH OUT'.

It's easy, honest, and it works. I'm an expert.
