When to stop using talcum powder

Morning ladies,

Just wanted to put the question out there, when is it ideal to stop using talcum powder in my LO nappies? Becoming a little writer and harder to apply! Still want to use it at night and after a bath.

You will get people telling you not to use it at all but I still do as you suggest and mine are 2 and 3.

I never used it for mine. What do you use it for? It’s not a good idea for girls I thought?

I never used it for nappies, so if you can't then don't. It's not the law to use it!
I do use it after baths, but only when DD asks for it.

Ive never used it either - what is its purpose?

I've never used it on me or kids. Not really sure what the point of it is.

I didn't use it because of all the negative stuff said about it and my ds was fine without it.

I used to use a cornflour baby powder to dry fat leg creases but I don’t understand why you’d use it in nappies all the time.

Never used it on either of mine. I didn't realise talcum.powder was still a thing!

I was told in ante natal classes not to use it, that it can stick together and ball up and cause irritation. I think it's if it gets sweaty and saturated.
I've never used it.

I didn't really use it at all when our kids were babies. We were given quite a number of bottles of it in various baby gift sets and now my eldest is 11 we're down to our last one after only using it to get sand off at the beach (it's worth it's weight in gold for that!) and to get the kids dressed after swimming.
It's not necessary at all in nappies

My oldest is 29 and I've never used it
I've worked in nurseries for 20 years and I've never had a child who used it at nursery

It is great for removing wet sand from feet at the beach.

Don’t use it at all - very bad for you, both respiratory wise and also implicated in ovarian cancer development.

Ive never heard of anyone putting it in nappies before.
If your DD is a girl you shouldn't be using it anywhere near her genitals, although drying the rest of the body after a bath etc is fine.

Yes you don't need it and shouldn't put in a girl's nappy.

Oh, brilliant tip to use on sandy feet! I've always used dry sand, but it's scratchy.

It is witchcraft I think it works this way- the talc soaks up any moisture which makes the sand stick to feet. Dust feet with talc and the sand painless rubs off.

I have seen ‘magic powder’ to see rid of sand selling £5 in a posh baby shop. It would have just been talc.

Talc only for sandy feet- and necks and fingers and inner elbows and my decolletage

I have an ancient bottle of talc which I use after the beach. Used to use it when I did swimming too to help get swimming hat on.

I use it at the beach, and I have a bottle that's supposed to be good for prickly heat which I've used sometimes for bits that rub on any of us when we were living in a hot country...

Never used it in nappies though. When DS got some nappy rash we used cream/bare bum time, and it cleared up fast.
