Anybody have any tips on how to get dry dead skin off my baby's head without taking his hair with it?

Well, I don’t know about leaving it alone and it will go away be itself - ds is FIVE and still gets it. Every so often I rub in coconut oil when he’s in the bath, and comb it off with a nit comb. He’ll then be free of it for a few months, then it gradually builds back up.

Nenuco Cologne is the only thing that worked on my son. It's a Spanish product which was recommended to me by a Mum on the school run. Dentinox didn't touch it. I still use it as a precaution every wash now. It smells amazing Smile

Just be warned that it can come back! DD1’s finally disappeared when she was about 4, after a summer holiday abroad. Not sure if it was the sun or the chlorine in the swimming pool, or just the fact that her head was soaked every day for a week...

DD2 also got quite a lot of cradle cap, most of it came off recently when I had to put some nit shampoo on her hair but I can already see it coming back in places.

Rub some baby oil in about 30 mins before bath time, then shampoo it off. I’ve found this helps with my little girl if her scalp becomes flaky x

Pretty sure my 7 and 9 year old still have a touch of it (the nit combination picks it up) but you can't see it under the hair. Suffice to say I mostly ignored it....

Baby oil half hour before a bath then wash and brush gently. I was also told nipple cream works but can't say I tried it.

My dd had it and mostly I just left it alone she is 1 now and it's all cleared and her hair isn't patchy as you always seem to end up taking the hair with it when you treat it.

I use Mustela foam shampoo. I left my DS's alone and he still had it age 3 so this time I used Mustela as soon as DD got it and it cleared up really quickly, and cleared up DS's too.
