Anybody have any tips on how to get dry dead skin off my baby's head without taking his hair with it?

I get it wet in the bath, then slather on coconut oil. Let it sit for a few minutes and gently comb it off with a nit comb.

I need this advice too. I've got twins and it's awful.... I also struggle to resist the urge to pick.

I'm the same, sat feeding him and it's all I can look at, I really want to pick it off but know I shouldn't!
With Ds1 I put on almond oil then brushed it all out after s bath, it worked but left him bald and I so desperately don't want to do this to ds2

I've always used oil, then leave to soak in and then pick off. Not had any probs with it taking hair with it..!

Picking it off can cause thinning hair and baldness. Just wash with medicated shampoo and leave it alone.

I tried everything under the sun for my son's dry scaly head. Even went to doctor about it. The only thing that worked was Moo Goo scalp cream. Cleared it up almost overnight. Recommend it to everyone now!

I've never noticed hairloss, either.

Along with oil and Dentinox Cadle Cap shampoo. It worked.

Mustela's cradle cap cream worked for us.

Ask your pharmacist for Capasal, they keep it behind the counter, my DD looked like a klingon it went all the way down her forehead, we tried everything but this worked.

What a wrong with just leaving it alone poor babies

I was told to leave it alone and it’d go away; it didn’t really bother me and it did go after a few weeks.

Baby oil over night, then lightly massage it out in bath next day.

Dentinox shampoo - DS is 3 now and still gets bad cradle cap if we don't use Dentinox once a week. Added bonus that it smells lovely.

My eldest had bad cradle cap, we just left it alone. It went away by itself. It didn’t bother her so we didn’t think to use extra stuff.

I wash as normal once a week, the rest of the time I just rinse with water.

I put cream on once the hair is dry if, and only if, I can see it really bad. On the day that I was wash it I brush it dry, apply cream and brush the cream through (soft baby brush)

It brings a lot of it out gently and looks much better - I've actually found her hair to be growing much better since starting this

I use dentinox as soon as I noticed she started getting cradle cap it cleared up instantly and I use it regularly and it's never came back. Done the same with DD1 as well.

We left DDs cradle cap alone until she was north of a year old when it suddenly went crazy scaly and was I suspect trapping her hair growth.
DS is only 3 months but like a PP has really aggressive cradle cap that makes him look like a Klingon.

We do exactly what @user1471422867 says and it works a treat. The only other thing we do it slather on aqueous cream after brushing the scales off x

Vaseline! My sons was hideous and nothing worked until his eczema nurser recommended it. Gently massage into scalp and leave overnight. Wash out in the morning. Took a couple of days from memory but that was the end of it after months of nothing working.

My DD has a lot of hair so hers was hidden but it built up massively and the scales were thick and horrible. I put on coconut oil to soften the scales, washed her hair with dentinox, then rubbed the scales off with a baby brush. I've continued using the dentinox.

My son has it always had really bad. Mentioned it to doctor a few times told me to just use olive oil never worked. He's 3 now and it's finally going on its own.

Baby oil. We rubbed it in 15 minutes before his bath, left it for 10 minutes then used a baby brush and brushed backwards to get the flakes out. Then washed his hair when he has his bath. It worked.

Thank you, quite a few suggesting dentinox, I'll give that's try and if it doesn't work I'll just leave it alone.
