My dd cries from morning until night! No amount of holding, feeding, swaddling, white noise settles her. Sometimes being in the car works but as soon as we're out she cries.

She is bf but even that is a struggle, she kicks her legs and squirms even after getting wind up. She's been checked for tounge tie. I've had mastitis twice and so worried about getting it again.

I have a 16 month old too and I'm finding it sooo hard I feel like she's constantly watching peppa pig and she has to sit listening to her dsis cry alllllll day, I feel so guilty.

I bought a mamaroo today thinking that might help but nothing.

I seriously don't know what to do and dread each day!

Who checked her for tt Changing? It's not uncommon for it to be missed...

Katescurios · 07/08/2017 20:48

Is it possible she has colic, has she always cried or is within the last few days as that could point to a growth spurt?

Reflux?
My chiropractor gets midwife referrals for these types of things

Health visitor, midwife and doctor when I went in for mastitis. I was told it was hard to spot so asked the doc to make sure and also see if the roof of her mouth was too high and she said all was fine

I've tried cold drops, colief, cranial osteopath, I literally don't know what to do anymore

I hope a specialist checked for TT and not just MW/HV? My daughters wasn't picked up till she was 8weeks and that was from a GP during a check. Although it wasn't necessarily a TT she had a chin regression (if there's even much of a difference) baby osteopath can always help. Colic? Reflux?

Changingoftheguard · 07/08/2017 20:52

It really started getting bad when she was 2 weeks old

Ignore me you posted as I replied apologies

EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic · 07/08/2017 20:54

I'd get her checked by a tt practitioner. Sadly, GPS don't get any training on Bfing. The chances of HCPs missing tt are quite high.

Repeating myself reflux.
None of the things you've tried would sort that

Orangebird69 · 07/08/2017 20:54

Silent reflux? Maybe Ranitidine is required.. of she quietens down in the car seat, try propping the head end of her cot/crib up. Buy a sling and keep her upright in there? So sorry. It's tough. Keep on at your hv/Dr to explore possibility of reflux Flowers

Stillwishihadabs · 07/08/2017 20:56

Google crysis, there's loads of help on there. Also crying is supposed to peak at six weeks, so worst may soon be over. Finally if breast fed have you looked at your diet ? Common triggers for colic are acidic foods ( orange juice, citrus fruits), green veg, spicy foods and chocolate.-hope some of that helps.

ineedwine99 · 07/08/2017 20:57

Reflux? Started with my daughter at about 4 weeks, squirming, pulling off the bottle, 'wet sounding' hiccups. She got prescribed gaviscon and it worked a treat

Shwangalangadingdong · 07/08/2017 20:58

Does she have any white deposits in her mouth? My DS had thrush in his mouth which was hard to spot as it looked like curdled milk but caused a lot of distress when feeding

Changingoftheguard · 07/08/2017 21:00

I have tried her in a sling we recently got given and she cried in that! I asked the doc about reflux and she said because she wasn't being sick it's unlikely she has it and she could prescribe gavisgon but it will make her constipated so best not to.

Do you think I should try it? I'll seriously try almost anything I feel so bad on her she is so unhappy and I feel she gets no interaction because she just cries and my poor toddler has been eating to much rubbish because I don't have time to cook slabs forever watching tv!

This sounds really hard. Does she sleep at night OP?

Changingoftheguard · 07/08/2017 21:02

Sorry I also asked the health visitor to check for thrush. Her eyes are red roar with tiredness but nothing will get her to sleep

MynameisJune · 07/08/2017 21:02

Sounds like silent reflux to me, my DD had this from 3weeks old. Would only settle when upright, would cry and scream otherwise. Went to the GP who referred us to the paediatrician at the local children's ward that day. Got ranitidine and with a few hours she was a different baby. She had that until she was 16 months old.

Try propping all of her sleeping places up slightly so she isn't laid flat. Keep her upright for as long as possible after feeding.

The GP will likely give you baby gaviscon but tryin to get 15ml of that into a bf baby is a nightmare and then it barely works anyway.

Changingoftheguard · 07/08/2017 21:02

No luna she doesn't sleep at night

Orangebird69 · 07/08/2017 21:05

Silent reflux rarely results in any actual vomit appearing. It only gets as far as the oesophagus and then goes down again. It's really horrid for the little ones. Press for them to investigate x

Changingoftheguard · 07/08/2017 21:10

I think I will ring the doctor tomorrow I know something isn't right. She's finally fell asleep upright on me with some patting and shushing, I just want her to be happy

Orangebird69 · 07/08/2017 21:12

Hang on in there OP. Flowers

Changingoftheguard · 07/08/2017 21:17

Seriously thank you all so much, I know it won't always be this way it's just so hard to remember that when your knee deep in it.

I'm definitely going to call the docs tomorrow!

Stillwishihadabs · 07/08/2017 21:19

Sorry it's cry-sis

EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic · 07/08/2017 21:24

Yes definitely call the GP. Have you got someone to go with you? I've always found the GP took us far more seriously if DH came too.
