Dd 9months split ends??

my daughter is 9 months old now and we done the traditional shaving of the head (with brand new clippers shaved to low level one) when she was 2 weeks old.
her hair has grown curly and nice mixedrace type hair I use a product called "pink" to keep her hair moisturised and recently I've noticed some split ends is this a nutrition problem or just a natural thing?

Just a natural thing. Tiny trim. She sounds gorgeous.

I have a silly question? What happens if you baby is almost bald? Do you still shave their head?

HattiesBackpack · 17/07/2017 16:05

Why do you shave babies heads?

thefutureisfemale · 17/07/2017 16:10

It can be for cultural reasons I think?

I've never heard if this, how interesting, can you tell me more about it ?

princessachica · 17/07/2017 16:15

I said it's for tradition&&yeah you can still shave best is with clippers so baby don't get no cuts but go as close as possible and catch all the little hairs so they can grow back thicker n darker if your baby is nearly bold I would say repeating the shaving after 4weeks to get that extra strong strand

Well some religious beliefs you should shave your baby's hair girl or Boy when they are born or 1 years old.

Hair grows through so much nicer thicker and healthier and faster and it doesn't rub out at the back or sides cause the strand is much thicker than the original one

which religion? And why?
Sorry for the third degree I have just never come across this before and I find traditions and rituals really interesting

princessachica · 17/07/2017 16:36

Well we are Muslim

princessachica · 17/07/2017 16:36

Turkish do this too

Shaving or cutting hair doesn't do anything to change the thickness of colour of it. It just changes the length and leave a blunt end.

SecretFreebirther · 17/07/2017 16:43

Think it's to do with the hair being unclean, being born through the birth canal and all Hmm

eyebrowsonfleek · 17/07/2017 16:45

Lots of Asian girls have their heads shaved so it grows thick and lush.

princessachica · 17/07/2017 16:46

My daughters hair was thin straight and black ... shaved and grew back curly nearly Afro with and brown with blond streaks and is very thick now ... so in my own experience yess it does

It's clearly not when I've experienced it 😂 and my brothers and sisters

I also believe some religions shave the hair and weigh it and then give that amount in gold or silver to a charity (or the money equivalent)... so many different beliefs, it's so interesting.

MeanAger · 17/07/2017 16:57

Grin ok

MeanAger · 17/07/2017 16:59

Your baby's hair would have naturally changed texture and colour as the newborn hair fell out and the thicker hair grew through. You just shaved it off before it happened and cut out the gradual process.

MeanAger · 17/07/2017 16:59

Next baby I have I'm shaving half its head.

MargotLovedTom1 · 17/07/2017 17:02

I can't imagine it being a pleasant experience for a newborn baby.

princessachica · 17/07/2017 17:06

She was sleeping and her clippers where silent

OP posts:
princessachica · 17/07/2017 17:06

And why half

OP posts:
MargotLovedTom1 · 17/07/2017 17:10

Silent clippers? You must give me a recommendation as DH's are bloody noisy and the vibrations are awful on my hand when I do his hair.

MargotLovedTom1 · 17/07/2017 17:11

Assume pp means half for experimental purposes Wink.

princessachica · 17/07/2017 17:46

I got the out of Argos ☺️
