Hi

How do you lovely mums make up bottles for days outing when you have to add powder to boiling water and top rest up

Use ready made when out, serve at room temp. Used perfect prep at home. When away for night I had a flask I could fill with boiling water and a separate one for cooled. I marked the side of the bottles with the level as made up by the perfect prep so avoided issues with it being too concentrated.

I do admit premade formula is the most easiest but it took me a while to realise it wasn't sitting well with baby and making him vomit.

Hi you lovely mums, could I make up the bottle and store it in a thermos bag thing

I did this for every feed away from home. As long as it's kept cold until using it, it's fine.

dementedpixie · 07/07/2017 14:31

If stored in a cool bag with an ice pack it's fine for 4 hours

Ah OK so you make up bottle with formula and it's good for 4 hours if stored with ice pack

I couldn't use ready made as they made my DD sick but I did what Ricebutt said, it was a lot easier than it sounds. For nights away I did the same. There is almost always access to boiled water. When it cooled too much I would put it in the cooled boiled water so it wasn't wasted. So I would keep that ready for the first morning bottle and in the morning just boil the kettle and put a couple of oz in. Perfect prep at home.

I make up bottles and keep them in the fridge at home, take one out in a cool bag so it is ok for four hours. If I'm going to be longer than that I get hot water from a cafe and make a fresh one then wait for it to cool down/cool it in water if I'm able to.
In a hotel at night I would pre make bottles and keep in the mini bar fridge and take out as needed.
I've always served milk cold/at room temp do no need to heat up bottles.
At night at home I take a bottle to bed in a cool bag and use when needed then replace with a new one from the fridge
