Baby Led Rearing - do you do it?

I am currently writing a book on the new method of baby led rearing. This is where you rear your child according to their wants and needs. So for example, if baby wants to put their head in the dog's bowl, we allow it as they need to find out what is acceptable or not for themselves. We, as parents, as just the observers in this scenario that is life. Baby finds out what is good and not so good by exploring for themselves. They decide when to eat and when to sleep and we are led by their decisions.

Any questions?

Got to be a piss taking thread...

Blu, I think it's egg led.

Rhubarb · 23/03/2007 12:15

The egg chooses which sperm to let in, if she doesn't like the look of it, she won't let it in.

Although it has been known for her to become distracted by thinking up new colour schemes for the fallopian tubes and so the sneaky sperm manages to get in without her noticing. As is all too familiar.

I would like to join this club please.

One question. The other day, at a friend's house, my daughter wanted a lollipop just before lunch. Naturally I gave her one but my friend was a bit put out as my daughter wouldn't eat lunch. In fact, my daughter never eats meals but that is by the by.
My friend just doesn't 'get' my parenting approach. What should I do?

Rhubarb · 23/03/2007 20:11

Drop her, there is no room for dissenters.

Right. Ok Rhubarb. Will ignore calls and texts from now on. Thanks.

Where would I find a friend with the same ideas as me?

Blandmum · 23/03/2007 20:17

Rhubarb

Sounds like a great idea.

What age do you introduce live electrical sockets. I bet they are on a really steep learning curve on playing with them.

PS can you sugest a good air freshener to clear the smell of buring hair

Blandmum · 23/03/2007 20:18

I can see the chapter on 'Handguns, Pheasant shooting and lavender bags' already

ghosty · 23/03/2007 20:20

LOL ... I remember fondly the time I caught DD licking the plug socket. My mother was horrified but I gently explained to her that this would the only way to learn [fond ]

Rhubarb · 23/03/2007 23:09

My ds has a jumper emblazoned with "pheasants are for shooting", I think that is apt!
