how pathetic is that??!!!!!!????????? I cant believe they are stopping what is obviously a useful working outlet.

SAHMof1 · 26/02/2007 21:16

Sun bleaching is the best ? put them on the line in sunny weather and stains disappear. I swear! It?s great!!!

I?ve even put them indoors on the window sill when it?s been rainy, and the stains have still gone!

Don?t fuss with chemicals etc. Good ole sunshine, even in Blighty!

SAHMof1 · 26/02/2007 21:17

Mind you, not much outdoor line drying at the mo? ? looking forward to summer just to see my nice line of well order nappies blowing in the breeze on a sunny day. OMG I?m so sad!

i don't let dd eat too much tomato based food LOL.

seriously, i soak in the pail with nappisan, wash @ 60 degrees with Fairy and extra NS.

that's it.

deffo the sun is the best and I also, strangely, heard that a frost can help so leave 'em out overnight!

maveta · 26/02/2007 22:07

but did i read somewhere that the bamboo nappies shouldn´t be washed higher than 40 or have I just made that up?

makesachange · 26/02/2007 22:44

Bamboo can be washed at 60 perfectly safely. It can be washed up to 72 degrees safely - over that and it trashes the fibres.

I don't like napisan - too strong and it ruins wraps.

maveta · 27/02/2007 07:08

okay, thanks!

Jillyadoodledoo · 27/02/2007 07:29

Oh NO!!!!
How am I going to sell all my Bamboozles now? GUtted.

It does seem completely rediculous

MyNamesNotFLAMEItsRodney · 27/02/2007 08:02

Jilly - I have always found I got more for my nappies on the nappylady classifieds bit anyway

Paddlechick666 · 27/02/2007 08:26

makesachange - what d'you use instead of nappisan?

washingqueen · 27/02/2007 09:49

PHP (Perfectly Happy People) Nappy Soak from Mothercare is an alternative to Napisan - it is a bit more enviro friendly..phosphate free and all that. It works for us anyway!

I think it must be the tomatoes that are our problem - they are his fave!

Paddlechick666 · 27/02/2007 09:53

i'll check that out, thanks.

dd isn't keen on tomatoes but she'll eat them in cooking iyswim.

spag bol is a fave but she hasn't had it since i put her back in cloth.

watch this space............

MyNamesNotFLAMEItsRodney · 27/02/2007 10:12

Paddlechick - DD had a few poos that just didn't shift no matter what I tried... I think that some children make it differently!!!

UPDATE

OOOOOOH, NEWS!

A member of another forum has copied a post from an american forum they use - this is the communication from ebay:

Quote:
Thank you for taking the time to write eBay with your concerns. I'm happy to help you further.

"We will allow the sale of used cloth baby diapers on the site. The only items that we will end are adult used diapers and items that are marketed in a sexual manner or that contain sexual innuendo.
Thank you for your time.
Regards,
Jade
eBay Community Watch"

Along with this:

Quote:
I am sorry for the confusion. If some legitimate diaper auctions were removed we apologize. Our policy is that used cloth baby diapers are allowed to be listed. The only items that we remove are used adult diapers and any auction that has a sexual innuendo or is marketed in a sexual fashion. I hope that this clears up the misconception.

Thank you for your time.

OMGhaveswallowedanoctopus · 27/02/2007 10:39

Phew! That adult baby thing always makes me cringe!

Jillyadoodledoo · 27/02/2007 10:49

Phew. Thanks flame.

Nemo2007 · 27/02/2007 11:21

excellent as it should be

makesachange · 27/02/2007 12:58

Paddlechick666 - If I soak (which I rarely do) I use a few drops of tea tree and lavender.

I sometimes use the Cotton Bottoms nappy bright stuff in the wash, but PHP is pretty much the same.

I just don't worry too much about stains - the nappy is clean and fresh so that's enough for me. It's a bit like why bleach a sposie... "white" does not always mean "clean".

But I understand people wanting bright white nappies as well... just as long as they understand they're reducing the nappy life.

Emma

makesachange · 27/02/2007 13:06

notflame - just had an email from ebay (UK) saying that we CANNOT list nappies...

I have emailed back with your quote and asked them to get their decision sorted out once and for all... not much point in us having to offer used cloth only on Ebay US.

Mind you, like I've said before, I'm not an ebay fan, and I'm trying a few things on Tazbar. Nappy Lady, as mentioned, is of course a good option too.

But - what the bloomin heck are ebay talking about - nappies - "a sexual nature" MY GODS are these people STUPID??? or just childless...

Frankly, and yes, TMI, the only thing sexual about babies, having babies, post baby and nappies is what you did to get them, IME. How people have more than one I'll never know

Flamesparrow · 27/02/2007 13:36

I've just heard someone else say that on another forum too - Ebay don't seem to know what they are doing.

Someone on the ebay forum said something like "Feel free to fight to list nappies if you want to encourage paedophiles"

I mean wtf?!?! Yes, because listing nappies encourages them... they wouldn't feel like weird perverts without the listings

washingqueen · 27/02/2007 13:39

Thanks for the updates on the ebay situation....I got a bit side tracked by my poo-stain problems for a while there (lol).

Hope they clarify soon - I'm expecting LO no.2 in Aug and have already started on my mad maternal nappy purchasing in preparation

washingqueen · 27/02/2007 13:44

I had a brief look at the ebay forum yest - I had to stop reading it..some people have very strange ideas!!!

I mean, if you ARE such a perv surely there's not much difference between a nappy, and baby towels, bedding and clothes etc???

And as for the people who think it is disgustingly outrageous to put your baby in someone elses worn nappies........

staceym11 · 27/02/2007 14:09

how can bloody nappies be considered sexual??? they sh*t in them for gods sake!

Paddlechick666 · 27/02/2007 16:30

erm, stacey i think that's the attraction, for the adult ones anyway!

staceym11 · 27/02/2007 17:32

eeeeeeeeewwwwww are there really people that sick out there? sh*t isnt remotly sexual is it?
