Formula feeds - silly question?

Hi there, I possibly should know this being eight months in with my second, but...

Is it ok to mix formula with cold water? I understand it's not sterile but does that matter when they aren't tiny? I've swapped to lactose-free milk and it does not come in ready made bottles so it is hard to make it up in advance with hot water.

Because you are clearly a troll.

QforCucumber · 24/11/2016 14:16

Reporting you for giving dangerous advice to mums is not bullying.

I've reported off the app, but I haven't had an email acknowledgement off MN and didn't get one on one I reported the other day. Does reporting work off the app?

ElphabaTheGreen · 24/11/2016 14:19

Because Coke and Lilt are full of goats, Sam. Only grown-up trolls should eat goats.

Hurryboomboom · 24/11/2016 14:20

Oh come off it Grin

Really? You can't think of a single reason why a fizzy drink is bad for your baby?

QforCucumber · 24/11/2016 14:20

I've not had an email either and doing through Google Chrome so I think they've stopped sending those maybe.

sam phone your hv and ask if they advise to give your baby fizzy drunks- sure they'll tell you why it's dangerous.

Hahaha

ElphabaTheGreen · 24/11/2016 14:25

DS2 was quite partial to tiffin and (organic) absinthe when he was around four months old, actually. Did wonders for his colic. Grin

Hurryboomboom · 24/11/2016 14:27

Obvious troll is obvious

QforCucumber · 24/11/2016 14:31

Ds prefers smoked salmon and laurent perrier actually, the alcohol makes sure he knows how to use his reflexes well and helps him sleep through the night.

fuzzyllama · 24/11/2016 14:32

What the fuck have I just read Confused it was believable all beit fucking stupid until she mentioned lilt or Dr Pepper. 10 points to sam8765 for trolling effort.

Binglesplodge · 24/11/2016 14:53

Hilarious.

Everyone knows it's Baileys you add to their formula. Won't curdle the milk and tastes just like the chocolate and ice cream that babies love so much.

StubbleTurnips · 24/11/2016 14:59
Hmm
ElphabaTheGreen · 24/11/2016 17:23

Four years on MN and this is the first time I've managed to see all of a troll's posts before zappage by HQ.

glueandstick · 24/11/2016 17:33

Qfor- I envy you a little for having a small one who sleeps!! Mine has a 20min nap middayish and that is it ALL DAY.

I'm knackered.

almmummy · 24/11/2016 18:15

Wow 16 hours in a day, amazing! I added up 8.5 hours last night and about 1.5 hour napping. My daughter was the same though and sleeps 12 hours without interruption now

Hurryboomboom · 24/11/2016 18:21

8mo here and 3-3.5 hours daytime naps plus 11-12 hrs at night. It's normal.

BastardBernie · 24/11/2016 19:24

I thought it was quite funny to be fair.
OP, I have learnt a lot from this thread, I hope you have too - stuff the powder and stick 'em staight on the fizz.
Or have a look at any of the other fantastic advice given Smile
I didn't properly take in about the dietary requirements, so I do apologise and will from now on butt out.

QforCucumber · 24/11/2016 20:42

glue that's made up of 12 hours at night (6:30pm - 7:30am, about an hour of awake time usually at 3:30am grrr)
Today , amazingly, 3.5 hours of napping too. 1.5 hours at 9am and 2 hrs at 1pm. God knows how he has done this, not too long ago he was taking 30 min naps whenever he felt like it .

BunloafAndCrumpets · 24/11/2016 20:52

Do you have actual lactose free formula or is it one of the extensively hydrolysed ones (i.e. Nutramigen)? The latter don't need to be made up with boiling water any more - in fact they advise not to, as contain probiotics that are denatured by boiling. So much easier when you're out and about.
