Is it sad to go swimming on your own with baby?

My daughter is nearly 7 months and I would love to take her swimming. I don't have any friends with children so can't go with them and my partner won't come with me as he has a complex about burns on his back - give me strength.

So I was going to take her on my own. But I always see people on Facebook going swimming with their baby and a friend or their husband, but I'll be going on my own, is it a bit sad?

I think I'd rather go on my own.

You don't have to worry if you're running late, or if something happens so that you don't gp at all that day , you don't have to watch someone else do it all perfectly while it all goes tits up for you (certainly not saying that will happen but hopefully you know what I mean), you can stay as long as you want, you can go to the cafe afterwards if you want, etc etc.

Not at all. I went every week with ds when he was little, he loved it so much.

I think it's sadder if you don't go because you are worried about it. Just go, you will have fun. If I hadn't done stuff on my own with the children we'd never have gone anywhere. Workaholic DH.

Going with just you and the baby is lovely. You don't end up chatting and vaguely dipping the baby on the water, which is what it feels like to me when I go with friends (though that's enjoyable in a different way). You can really focus on your baby and have fun together. I love it!

No....plenty of people go swimming ALONE, with no baby so why would it be sad to go swimming with a baby and no friends joining? I take my kids swimming all the time. Sometimes just me and one kid sometimes just me and two kids. Sometimes me with the kids and other parents plus kids friends etc. Plenty of people do it. It is such a nice experience for the kids. Well, as long as they like it. I have seen some kids that do not like that water. But most do, as long as you dont just dunk their head under!
