Hello
How old was your breast fed pfb the first time you left them over night . I have to go somewhere over night baby will be 6 month. I'm having a melt down and I have 8 weeks to go yet

I understand that not everyone has that but if you do why not take advantage of that. As for leaving a non verbal child there's only so many reasons why a baby will cry, my mum and mil have brought up their own children so I've no doubt they've got the same capabilities as me as to settle a baby.

A few days under six months. My first day back at work after mat leave involved an overnight stay! It was hard but probably harder on my husband!

worldsworstmum it's a bit hard when they're breastfed! My DS was feeding every hour until he was well over one, and stil has one breastfeed overnight now at 3.9. Yes, he doesn't 'need' it for nutrition in the same way as he did as a baby, but he'd be upset if I wasn't there, and there is no way I could enjoy my 'alone time' or 'husband/wife time' thinking of his puzzled little face.
I hope that helps you to understand a little. Also, not everyone has the same lifestyle set-up. DH, DS and I live on a different continent to all our family members.

6 months, left with the in-laws so DH and I could celebrate our anniversary

About 2 years old, at her grandparents. I was nervous. It was fine.

Grin worldsworstmum not all grandparents are willing/available/near enough sadly.

OP imo there is no right or wrong on this. So much depends on the baby, how you feel, if they will drink from a bottle, whether you have anyone to leave them with...

I left ds1 overnight for the first time at about 14mo. The need didn't arise before then tbh, he was very easy going and just came with us wherever we needed to go Smile

The youngest was left overnight at about 11mo as we were invited to a big party and couldn't take him. That was a bit stressy as he was still bf, not a great eater and a bottle refuser but he survived Wink My parents needed a holiday after looking after 3 under 4 all weekend though!

DD's nearly 2 and we haven't yet. She still breastfeeds to sleep (and a couple of times during the night) though.
