I think so? I was looking at doing some post grad stuff and my degree was fine i think.

When did you graduate? Is it related to what you want to study?

tiredemma · 17/11/2006 22:36

AFAIK yes it does.

what you going to do cod? my dad used to work for the ou & it's fab.

CheeryGarcia · 18/11/2006 08:05

Yes, your degree will 'count' - how much depends on what PG course you want to do and whether there are 'specific' as well as 'general' entry requirements. Care to say more? Have you decided what you want to do with OU?

arfishymeau · 18/11/2006 08:48

AFAIK yes it will. Best to phone their advisors though as things change fast in the heady post-grad world. Go to www.open.ac.uk for their online stuff & contact details. They are very good and their phone people are competent.

Neena28 · 18/11/2006 09:06

OU are ime the friendliest and most helpful people in the world on the phone.

Give them a ring they will explain all in terms that even a degree and pgce holder will understand!

Can usually give you more options to ponder too!

You can count your degree but there will be a maximum number of credits you can transfer. There is a 'credit transfer' number you can call that will give you the lowdown.

TheHighwayCod · 18/11/2006 12:05

amynnixmum · 18/11/2006 12:08

That sounds like dh telling me about his shares Unless the money is in my hand I don't care

CheeryGarcia · 18/11/2006 12:14

Credit transfer is only relevant if you want advanced standing (glaze, glaze, glaze....). Basically, if you want to do something like physics at pg level (ie a discipline that builds on a prior level of experience/knowledge) then you'd need a relevant first degree. Many other subjects just require ANY first degree (or equivalent experiential learning) to demonstrate that you are capable of studying at graduate level. Specific entry qualifications really do depend on the subject area.

I used to play squash at the OU - totally irrelevant I know
