How do you manage toddler tantrums?

My LO has started tantruming. Whats the best way to manage them? She will scream for 30 minutes just because she didn't get her way! What do I do? Is it best to ignore, cuddle or distract?

Any advice please...14 month old has started becoming very unsettled at bedtime ...for hours !
Brand new baby ( 1 wk old) in the house but it started a couple of weeks prior to his birth......the toddler gets massively upset despite previously going down very happily......she's now a nightmare.
Pls help.
