So said my dd to me last night as she wiped away the tears. So dh is busy making vampire collars and digging out fangs for this evening.

We are meeting friends and their kids in a pub which has special games laid on for this kids this evening but it's not enough.

Other parents, who disapprove of Trick or treating, are coming under similar pressure. The kids appear to be leading a revolution and forcing this cultural change.

Will you be going trick or treating?
What are the rules? Who can you call on?

I have to say, even though I don't agree with T-or-T for my children, the children that knocked on my door, from little ones to big ones, were all polite and said 'thank you' one group of older boys even said 'happy halloween' to me as they left

I don't really approve of it but one time when dh had bought particularly awful chocolates back from Germany I managed to get rid of the lot of them (chocs and T&Ters). We haven't had any today, but that might be because the bell is not working and we have switched off the lights at the front of the house.

We are never in on halloween but if I was I would be happt to welcome any guisers that made and effort. I think its a good idea to get kids to stick to people they know and houses that show some indication they are participating.

If everyone could just stop calling it trick or treating I would be happy .

Our road has been lovely tonight, we has a tea party with games tonight for the children from our part of the road, all houses that welcomed trick or treaters had a lot pumpkin in their window or by their door. The children then went trick or treating at these houses only while parents watched on proudly with a glass of mulled wine. It was such a lovely evening thatI had a tear in my eye as I watched dd.

IN fact rather than upset people halloween has reinforced what is alreadya lovely community to live in. I feel quite gushy!

Sounds ideal, I wish I could recreate the guising we used to do.

I don't approve, but since moving to a tiny village,it seems to be expected. There are so few children here that everyone knows everyone else the children go to a few pre agreed neighbours houses, there are no tricks & it is all done by 8pm.

Our elderly neighbours love to see the children dressed up.

Well, it looks like someone threw a large stone at our lounge window last night. The window is broken. I'm guessing it was trick or treaters, but they didn't knock on the door so its all a bit odd. Such joy.
