Which high chair is best?

I am looking into buying a high chair in preparation for introducing solids. I like aesthetically pleasing items but I also want it to be safe and sturdy for DD. We have a large dog and I don't want one that could be easily moved or knocked by him. Easy to clean is another must.

From what I can gather, the Ikea Antilop and the Stokke Tripp Trapp are well thought of. We also had a look at the Chicco Polly. Any views on which is best? Or any other suggestions?

Tripp trapp here too. I love it.

I spent a fortune on beautiful high chairs, then discovered they were impossible to get properly clean. Sold them on gumtree for a huge loss and bought the cheapy IKEA ones... And they were perfect. Then moved on to easy clean plastic boosters. Learn from my silly and expensive mistakes!

Another vote for the brother max scoop. It is easy to clean and looks good. Plus I found the adjustable height really useful - DD could be at the right height for the table, breakfast bar or the sofa if we were having dinner in front of the tv. But it is pricey and takes up a lot of space.

my mum has the antilop at her house for her DGCs and it is great but I love the scoop!

Thanks everyone. The Antilop seems to be the winner. Very unusual for the (much much) cheaper version of anything to come out on top but quite refreshing.

Lol at toothpick related cleaning and pressure washing in the back garden. I definitely want to avoid that! And yes, having a large greedy dog will help with the weaning mess too.

Antilop it is then.

Ikea here too. It's getting its second go with dc2 and still perfectly good.

3 tripptrapps in our house - 11mo in baby set, 3 & 6 yr olds on different height settings - all round table together. They are fab!

We initially bought Mamas & Papas Bop and hated it. It was fiddly to clean and because if the seat design, water got trapped between the plastic and padding. It ended up stinking.

We replaced it with a second hand Tripp Trapp and absolutely love it. It's very easy to clean, gentle on the eye, and DS (2) doesn't think of it as a baby chair now all the restraints have been removed. Lots of our friends children are still using them aged 4/5/6.

I like the antilop but unless there is loads of space around it I trip up on the legs. The tripp trapps was good but none of my DC's wanted to sit on them once they were big enough to manage on an adult chair.

This time I have a plastic fantastic Prima Pappa (which I take out side and hose down!) and because it is so big I seem not to trip up on it. It also gets used as a chair when it is on the low setting.

We have the Baby Bjorn. It's great for fitting smaller babies at the start of weaning and the lack of straps (baby is held in place by the tray) and smooth clean design mean it is so easy to clean (my reason for choosing it) as there are no nasty corners for grot to hide. It also folds up neatly if you don't want it left out constantly or want to take it away.
I've been really pleased with it and we often take it with us when we eat out (can you tell DD is our PFB Grin) as we find restaurant highchairs too big and a bit gross. That said the antilop is really very good for the price and I plan on getting one to leave at Grandma's.

I'm going to go against the grain and say I love our oxo tot sprout! It's sturdy with a small footprint, looks nice, DD looks comfortable in it and it's easy to clean. The seat cushions are removable with Velcro so the whole thing can be washed.
it says it'll last up to 5 years old, we'll see - she's only 9 months now!
