I had a letter yesterday asking me to come for an interview next week! Eeeek! This is a postgrad diploma that starts in March! It would be great to get started then.

I have no idea what to expect from the interview though - I've only done job interviews in the last 15 or so years! Anyone??

Busyalexsmummy · 15/12/2006 13:48

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

frenchconnection and moonpie!!

I too have an interview! At bournemouth for 10th Jan!! fingers crossed everyone!

Moonpie-post grad?-are you a RM already then? or is that for something else?confused!

Generally speaking, most unis will do a combination of group discussion and individual interview with the tutor and a midwife.

No, I applied via UCAS to do a degree and they saw I already had a degree (B.Sc. in psychology and linguistics - hardly useful) and invited me to apply for their 2 year programme instead. So I submitted all my stuff and now this!

I'm excited but nervous, too! We have a group presentation before the individual interviews. The wait after the interview is going to be torture as I don't expect they'll let us know until the new year what with Xmas in the way.

moonpie · 21/12/2006 17:09

I got in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Start in March!

frenchconnection · 21/12/2006 17:22

Well done Busybean. When's your interview?

I'm still waiting to hear back from Exeter

(Also name changed, use to be fifi26)

Busybean · 06/01/2007 22:01

Its a busy week for me next week, ive got my driving test on monday, my interview at bournemouth on wednesday and my dads funeral on friday and the interview for uwe is on the 31st

Busybean · 06/01/2007 22:03

MiaWallace, I wouldnt worry just yet, many unis for many courses have not yet decided on the people they will interview/accept and many dont until after the ucas application deadline on the 15th jan
Fingers crossed x

MiaWallace · 07/01/2007 12:28

Good luck Busybean

Sorry to hear about your dad

MiaWallace · 10/01/2007 15:47

Exeter has requested a second reference. Don't know if that's a good or bad sign. Well at least I know I'm still in with a chance at the moment.

Oh giraffeski fingers crossed you will hear something soon. The waiting is the killer.

Busybean how did the driving test go?

Busybean · 14/01/2007 00:48

I failed my driving test with 4 minors and 1 major which i could of kicked myself for. the interview was hellish, but the funeral yesterday went well and it was a lovely service.

dancinggirl · 14/01/2007 01:43

I have been umming and aahing but finally e-mailed application tonight (nothing like leaving it to last minute!) Hoping to start Primary Teacher Training at local Uni but have been warned is v competitive so trying not to get hopes up too much.

nappyaddict · 14/01/2007 06:55

busyalexsmummy - im at cardiff hope you come here! my friend has also just applied to mw at cardiff and has an interview on the 26th january.

MiaWallace · 14/01/2007 10:45

Oh Busybean sounds like hell of a week for you. You poor thing. When do you find out if you passed the interview?

Dancinggirl I'm hoping to do a PGCE in primary teaching after my degree. What degree do you have? Are you looking to specialise in a curriculum subject?

dancinggirl · 14/01/2007 23:32

Hi Mia

I've only got a few OU credits so will actually be hoping to start a first degree in Education as opposed to a PGCE. If poss. would like to specialise for part of the course in teaching languages at Primary Level. Have you had any news yet from Exeter? Fingers crossed for you and everyone else waiting to hear.

BusyBean - good luck to you too. You sound as if you really deserve something to go right for you...

MiaWallace · 15/01/2007 07:15

Haven't heard anything yet

Is it only the one uni you've applied to dancinggirl?

Anyone else received any news yet?

Busybean · 16/01/2007 22:39

unsuccessful after interview it says on track.
Not too bothered, just a bit gutted I heard so quickly as it has now dented my confidence for UWE interview at the end of the month.
Although Ive wanted this half my life, Im starting to feel like I couldnt put myself through all the heartache again next yr if I dont get in

MiaWallace · 17/01/2007 07:52

oh busybean don't give up. It's just one small set back. If it's really what you want to do keep fighting for it. You don't want to look back in 20 years time and regret giving up on your dream.
