Playthegameout · 26/10/2014 18:52

Toot toot drivers parking garage and a wooden music set (tambourine, maracas, xylophone and drum), for our Ds (1).

MJP1 · 26/10/2014 20:10

Tomy squeaky sorting eggs, best £5 spent, she still loves them now at 21 months

Bluestocking · 26/10/2014 20:13

I was going to say Tomy squeaky eggs but I see MJP1 has already got there! Seriously, total favourite for months, not too noisy, and will fit in a changing-type bag easily.

ThursdayOfTheLivingDead · 26/10/2014 20:14

Stacking cups.

SophieBarringtonWard · 26/10/2014 20:15

Best present we have ever had & which all visiting children from babies to 6 year olds love is a red wooden double decker bus with people inside.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 26/10/2014 20:31

Anything that goes in and out of holes doors boxes etc
Anything with a boo (jack in a box)
Anything that makes a bloody racket
Garage with roundy roundy helter skelter road bit
Pressy buttons and noise toys especially if the same one can be pressed repeatedly and make a horrible noise

Dd 16 months

workingtitle · 26/10/2014 20:35

DS - stacking cups/boxes (the djeco solid cardboard stacking cubes are lovely), musical instruments particularly things with bells or shakers, board books, anything small with wheels that he can push along, duplo (though he just throws it atm), wheely bug

NorahBone · 26/10/2014 20:59

Anything with wheels or buttons to press (especially if they cause lights and noise). He's 1 in a week.

NorahBone · 26/10/2014 21:02

Oh and he also likes making as much noise as possible, so a drum would be his ideal present. But we're happy to just let him have a metal bowl occasionally :D

BertieBotts · 27/10/2014 07:37

"That's not my"... and a set of 3 happyland emergency vehicles, that they don't seem to do any more, but you might get on ebay.

Boy/girl really doesn't matter at 1, surely? Confused

YY squeaky eggs. Loved by my DD and now adored by DS.

Beehatch · 27/10/2014 07:48

Came on to say the Tomy 'hide and squeak eggs' both mine (girl and boy) loved those. I have kept them in a small box of baby toys, even though they are well beyond babies now. They still get used!

The other favourite was a 'treasure basket' I made with lots of sensory stuff in, and the most absolute favourite thing out of it was a plastic plug on a chain - that too is still in their toy box!

bronya · 27/10/2014 07:53

From 18 months or so - mini balance bike. Boy. Before that, car ride-on toy.

ViperActive · 27/10/2014 08:15

I bought some squeaky eggs from Amazon and some books, she likes books with flaps, can anyone suggest good ones like that? Gender doesnt matter Bertie no I was just wondering what if any differences or similarities.
Is it worth getting a ride along like a wheely bug or similar or a trike?
