Mums of Sons: Do you find yourself turning them into your "ideal bloke"?

And does it weird you out a little bit?

I seem to be trying to mold my boys into what I think blokes should be like. Fit and active, but not sport supporters. Funny and pleasant. Dressed like surfers. Etc etc ...

My ds is not even 4 mo and I pity the woman stupid enough to think she can take him from me and wash is socks instead!

I am ashamed of the fact that I sometimes look at ds and think - that's somebody's husband - oops better get some training in -then I look at ds and think - that's somebody's wife -go it girl, give him hell! But I am an incredibly ancient mother and I did spend a significant part of my youth marching for things and sitting in things. Maybe Greenham Common warped my mind!

I know little boys are lovely aren't they? So affectionate. I have to ask DD for a kiss whereas DS smothers me with them. Am dreading the day when he won't give his Mum a kiss. DP's Mum still asks him for one from time to time.

Every night he says "Mummy I love you bery bery bery much" without fail. So sweet.

The other saying that worries me though is "a daughter is a daughter for life but a son is son until he finds a wife".

DP adores his Mum he really does, but I know he adores me more.

Can't bear to think DS might adore another woman more than me......
