My DS is 5 months and still no period. Should I be worried? Except for one bottle a day I am Breastfeeding him still. TIA

Mine was a year and I only fed for about 5 months.

CrispyFern · 24/05/2014 08:48

Bunbaker · 24/05/2014 08:48

About 9 or 10 months after DD was born, when I dropped the BF to two feeds a day (morning and evening).

NorthEasterlyGale · 24/05/2014 09:47

With DS1 (he'll be 2 next month) it was 10 months and I BF until he was 16 months. Don't recall it coinciding with any particular changes in feeding.

DS2 is 3 months and still BF, no period as yet.

DirtyDancing · 24/05/2014 10:03

Thanks that makes me feel a lot better! Was getting a bit worried... Not that I miss it!!

Mine came back when I cut down to 3 feeds a day at around 8 months.

TheScience · 24/05/2014 10:05

When I stopped feeding at night - about 7-8 months.

notjustamummythankyou · 24/05/2014 10:05

Yes, about the 9 / 10 month mark for me too - a few weeks after we dropped to just morning and bedtime feeds.

Passthecake30 · 24/05/2014 10:08

9 months ish, when dd started eating a bit more, she was very reluctant for solids

MissYamabuki · 24/05/2014 10:16

6 months, (DD was mixed-fed until 11 months). There were no changes in the feed pattern... however I had a massive drop in my supply at the same time, totally out ofthe blue :( only managed to bring my supply back with lots and lots of expressing!

RedHatNoDrawers · 24/05/2014 10:27

Ds1 it was 11m when I night weaned him. Ds2 is 12m and night weaned himself a couple of months ago and is only down to bedtime and morning. Still no period. Of course because I am nearly 40 I have convinced my self it's menopausal Grin

MissCalamity · 24/05/2014 14:55

10 months, finally finished BF when DS was 7 months and it was the week I was back at work - what a joy that was! Hmm

melliebobs · 24/05/2014 14:57

I fed for 8 months period returned 2 months later

TortoiseUpATreeAgain · 24/05/2014 15:00

9 months / 13 months / 9 months with the three DC (I was still bf at the time).

ShineSmile · 24/05/2014 15:02

4 months

pinksummer · 24/05/2014 15:12

The week I stopped breast feeding at 8 months.

ThursdayLast · 24/05/2014 15:13

A year, and I'm still feeding once a day.
This thread just goes to show there is never one single answer Smile

iirc · 24/05/2014 15:16

It didn't :)

Well not yet anyway. Had the implant put in at 4 months past birth and no period before or since. DD is 13 months now. Going to take implant out around Christmas this year to ttc#2 so probably will a month or so after.

Average is 3-6 months though I have heard.

iirc · 24/05/2014 15:17

Between 6 and 9 even. Around weaning stage :)

eagle2010 · 24/05/2014 15:24

Just a week ago, when DS was 7.5mo. EBF, no soother, still feeding all the time at night!

Seems like it's totally personal!

HappyAsASandboy · 24/05/2014 15:28

It returned at 18 months, while I was still feeding approx 8 times a day (split between twins, don't worry!). It was compeletely normal and regular from the first one at 18 months.

Cric · 24/05/2014 15:29

2 and a half months..... As soon as I had the implant!

PretzelPrincess · 24/05/2014 15:38

6 weeks! And I'm EBF. I know it was a period as I've had regular periods since.

FruitbatAuntie · 24/05/2014 15:48

First time - I BF until DS was 23m old - period returned 3m later.

Second time - I am still BF DS2, he is 22m now and no sign yet!

It's fantastic, I have had about 5 periods in the last few years so have avoided the monthly agony and flooding (not about to have another baby to avoid it even longer though) Grin
