I want to get my daughter an ethnic baby born doll but I can't find one anywhere. Where would I get one?

I don't think dolls will stop her absorbing your attitudes. If you said something offensive and actually cared you would be sorry and not say it again. Not accuse people of being on high horses. Are you teaching her to overreact when faced with gentle and constructive criticism too?

The word you are looking for is "black" I am looking for a black doll for my dd.

Sorted.

While we are on that subject, why are all the dolls other than the pink ones, so much more expensive?

I did get a lovely black baby dolly from ELC though, but would like some more different ones for the collection.

Looking forward to getting on my laptop to look at all the links.

I think "I'm looking for dolls of different ethnicities" would have been ok? Or maybe "I want a doll that isn't white to teach my DD that we are all different"

Hi mizzdanibaby89 – I think it's lovely that companies come out with dolls of all ethnic backgrounds. I believe it helps little children develop a positive view of all nationalities at an early age. Good for you for starting this topic! Smile

I recently read this article, which touches on this subject. There is a nice little section on matching dolls to children’s development I found very helpful and insightful for myself.

For many years I've been a Madame Alexander fan. Their little newborn baby's are so sweet. Here is the link: www.madamealexander.com/lee-middleton-dolls-newborn-nursery.html you'll should see many ethnicities of newborns there. They are a little bit on the higher end, but well worth it as they are very realistic looking, durable and will be a hand-me-down. I hope this helps out!

How did your daughter like her doll?

It's NOT 'down syndrome'. It is Down's Syndrome.
