Is going from 1 to 2 children much harder than having first?

Am pregnant with DC 2 and everyone seems very eager to tell me how much more difficult adjusting to life with two children will be. Much harder than having your first apparently. Does this ring true? I am suffering with morning sickness at the moment and already feel like a rubbish mum to DC1 who wants to play with me while I vomit!

I found number 2 much easier than my first even though the second was far more difficult as a baby. 0-1 floored me, but 1-2 was easy by comparison.
I have a gap of just over 3 years between them.

2.5y gap here. First year of ds was really hard. I was so looking forward to having another baby after an awful pg, and I had a more difficult labour and then all my focus was on dc1, I hardly noticed dc2, felt a bit robbed. I was so tired, dc1 stopped napping, I was just so tired. Didn't really enjoy the first year, it was much harder than 0-1. But now they are 3 and 6 it's so much easier than having 1, they play together, keep each other amused, it's lovely. Has been since dc2 was old enough to play with dc1.

3.5 year gap, and way easier than the first one despite hellish pregnancy, 3 months of PND, and not being that easy.

Lots of snoozing with dd while ds played at stay&play or small soft play places, and ds still went to nursery 3 days a week. Loads of feeding dd with a book propped up on her!

I found the second pne a walk in the park.

First one much more of a shock!

Nope, DD2 BF and then weaned on to solids no bother.
DD1 is amenable soul who never minded having her sister about.

DD2 was born at home and just felt like she belonged here.

She has had her moments when she was older, but as a baby and toddler she was pretty easy.
