Good Evening!
I have visited before but not stuck around as lost my bounce a bit during pregnancy. But DS2 arrived on 2nd Dec so hopefully can graduate to join you all.
I'm 45, DS1 is 3 1/2, DH is 51.
New kitten is coming on well - had tongue tie snipped on Tuesday. Sitting nursing him, crying with joy.

Notsoold, aah, that's lovely, you must be so proud of your DS.
Scarecrow, love Tintin's post! Glad the nativity went well, and I did snigger at the typo Grin.
Eagle, congratulations! But I couldn't get the link to work to see your DP's present for your DD.
Rosie, love the image of your DD singing. Hope you get more sleep soon. I too have trouble. I fall asleep no probs at all, but don't seem to stay asleep longer than 6 hours. I know it's not that bad, but means I'm wide awake 4.30-5am every day, and have to be up at 5.30ish anyway on school days. Don't mean to moan, I know some of you have very broken sleep at the moment Blush.
Goat, Somewhere, BBD, glad the meet up went well, lovely photo. And BBD, hope the hearing test goes well.
Catdoctor, congratulations! Tell us how it all went if you feel up to it. Enjoy the newborn snuggles Smile. And if you're on FB and fancy it, for you as well notsoold, we have a private FB group for photos etc. If you'd like to join, just PM me your FB details and I'll send you a friend request.
Spent most of yesterday in town Christmas shopping and DD was so good, bless her. Took her for lunch in a cafe where she could cruise around a coffee table, leaving a trail of cheese sandwich crumbs and masticated grapes. Just need to find time to do all the wrapping now...

notsoold love your clothes rule. Should be national legislation to that effect.

catdoctor hello! What joy to get these newbies, or returning folk!

eagle I love it. What's your point?

bbd I just want to add that Somelet had an extra great lunch and mummy broke her fast slightly thanks to your lovely garlicky fish pie.

Notsoold, Catdoctor, welcome. Remember you from the 40+ mums to be thread. Very happy you made it to this one!
I am on my way to hearing test, network is bad, hope I won't lose this post.
A has had words with BG and Tintin for sure, has been singing every 3 hours or so. Lots of make up for me this morning to get rid of my zombie look. Can't wait to be in Marrakech where hearthy food will be served all day, DS wants to go EVERY day to kids club, last Jan he loved poney riding and flying trapeze ! A will be happy to run nappy free (planning to train her over 10 days, if not working, well we will wait for the summer, no rush, but nappy rash at nursery made me cross) and DH plans to play tennis, golf, swimming to get rid of a few kg ! While I lan to get on a few more kg!!!!
Forgot to add socks to my luggage :) Need to cook a few dishes and freeze them before we leave.

Congratulations Catdoctor!! Wonderful news that DS2 has arrived safely! Glad you have had early(ish) intervention with the tongue tie - these things can go undetected a while. I remember you being concerned about induction and was going to tell you about my experiences but I'm afraid I can't remember if I got round to it or not! Would be very interested to know how you got on, if you don't mind talking about it!

Somewhere the point of DP's present is that it's the one thing he has bought her, ever. And so of course it would have to be a bloody bike! That's the only reason he's actually put his hands in his pockets and bought something. Mind you, it's an ex-display one he's found and needs a fair bit of cleaning up. Can't wait to see her trying it out on the 25th

Rosie your yacht trip sounds v interesting! Would love to hear more

I've had a lovely day - coffee/play date in the park this morning with fellow 40+ mum who lives nearby and has DD of same age (we have bumped into each other a few times throughout the year but only met up properly today). Bizarrely, our DPs work in the same industry and commute to the same area of the UK! Then DD has been in nursery this afternoon while I trudged into town and started xmas shopping. Pooped now so feet up on the sofa before I have to nip back out the door for nursery pickup. I should really be putting the tree up and decorating it but too darned tired and will watch rubbish on the telly instead

Nursery starts after Xmas Sad I'll be on here weeping then I know ...
Hope all well with you all, I'm missing the chat as ever

LRM, hope you feel better soon, baby M walking ! Yeah ! 12 teeth already !
Goat, sorry you feel bored, good luck
Wave to everyone.
My packing is finished, I am ready for a departure at 4 am. Hope A won't wake up at 1am, otherwise it would be meaningless to go to bed. I still need to leave notes for my house sitter !!! And place the Xmas/new year grocery order, hang cloth, tidy the kitchen, take rubbish out.... before going to bed.
Hope you all have a lovely week end. Will post if I can from Marrakech.

I wanted to keep this group to myself....does it make any sense at all???
Have a nice weekend everyone!!!

Notsoold, it's a private group but your DH would see the posts, yes. Let me know if you change your mind, or decide to set up a different profile just for you Xmas Wink.
BBD, have an amazing time Xmas Envy. Wave to Seaside, LRM and everyone else.
Busy weekend here - making mince pies then my friend is popping round with his new girlfriend [nosey emoticon] and a birthday present for Rosa later. Then baking birthday cake tomorrow morning before my family descend for a little tea party for her. How can she be nearly 1? The big day isn't until Tuesday. I know it's a cliche, but really, where has that year gone? My tiny baby is now cruising round all the furniture, saying "Dad", eating a satsuma like it's nectar with juice all down her little chin, and giggling her head off everytime she sees her big brother Xmas Smile.

Morning all Grin
Not sure why Grin but hey, why not. It's a beautiful day and rosebud slept in her cot till am sometime! Dh fell asleep on sofa and as i had changed the bedding i left him there and enjoyed a big clean bed all to myself.

Bbd hope you're having a wonderful time xx

Notso tis me for whom this group is my secret sanctuary.
All these baby's nearly 1! How wonderful. What an adventure life is. Knotty hope little Rosa has a lovely birthday.

Dh fucking shit car has broken down again. So so pissed off that's the Xmas fund gone. He just loves the fucking heap of shit and won't except that it's a lame donkey. He's gone to get it sorted and I'm taking rosebud to a Christmas fair.

Working on getting her to take a sippy cup in preparation for going to childminder next year. I have to go back to work. I need my independence and own financial security. I'm ready (just not sure my little boob monster is) dh is still putting up every objection he can and refusing to help. Refused to even look at the list sent through. Refusing to try and give the cup and generally being horrible about me going 'wanting' to leave rosebud! But truth is i need my identity back. I know she will be fine. In fact I'm really happy that she will (inshalla) be spending time with people who can help teach her about the other 1/2 of her identity. With someone who speak and looks like her nana. Where weaning will not be an issue (dh is convinced that a non Muslim will give her a sausage to munch on)

Lrm fab typo, Grin

struggling a bit on my own already. Not sure why as I do so much of the weekends alone. Mum has let me down, friend's husband mucking up another plan, mum then insisted I still go.ringer house to cheer up ky dad (because I don't have enough people to look after), then asked me if she should lie to him about why she was going out and I said not to and she got super huffy and said I didn't understand what it was like living with him so I snapped well don't ask my opinion if you don't want to hear it and somehow the phone call ended with me feeling like the unreasonable one and I.came home and snapped at both dd and the baby... allostly because we have been up since five a flipping gain and I realise there is not a single person on the planet I can rely on to help.

here endeth the self-pitying durge. Apologies. feel v alone sometimes.

Scarecrow, didn't want to read and run, you sound so sad Sad. I'm sorry you feel so alone. Can you get out for a walk with the DCs or go to a cafe or something? Doesn't sort out the situation with your mum I know but it might make you feel a bit better to get out. Come & vent on here as much as you need, you're not alone, we're all here xx
Rosie, sorry about your DH's car, and the money. Glad you're sticking to your guns re: going back to work, and it's crap isn't when your other half not only doesn't see it your way but is being unreasonably uncooperative about it as well - I don't mean to have a go at your DH, I'm sure he's lovely in all sorts of other ways Xmas Smile. Hope you enjoy the Christmas fair. Pick up a knitted nativity item for me (that's what they seem to sell lots of at our one!).
