How much do you send on LO at xmas?

As it says really! My DS is 6 and DD is 1 a few days before xmas!! Just curious to know how much others spend

Probably around £50 each (DS1 is 2.5, DS2 is 5mo). Not much they need at this point in time. Anything is a toy for DS2 and DS1 will just as happily play with some pots & pans in the kitchen as he'll do with bought kids toys.

To be fair though, we tend to buy small toys on an ad hoc basis throughout the year, we get given toys often by a neighbour and get one or two big toys for birthdays.

I am surprised people spend so much.

DC are 10, 7 and 3.

DD1 is 10 I just bought her a micro scooter for her birthday.. (£110).

I would probably buy one "big present" of £20-£25 and then some smaller stuff which they need anyway like PJs - so maybe £50 per child.

We already have a wii and not planning to upgrade, we have an ipad and nexus 7 so don't want more tablets in the house.

DD just sold her 3ds on ebay and bought an ipod with proceeds and her birthday money from other people, not really sure what else I would buy even if I wanted to spend more.

I'll spend about £50 on DD who is 17 months. She'll get another £50 spent on her by aunt and grandma so £100 in total.

The Christmas shop will cost £200 which will include some food treats. I am trying not to make too big a focus on presents and that's quite easy as £100 doesn't go far nowadays!

I'm sorry but where do all go shopping. my Christmas expenses are way over. my teenager 16 gets about £300-£400 and I spend about the same on other two 11&5. the lo at 6months will probably b another £250. we also buy for our parents siblings nephews & a few family members. we both work and never get into debt for Christmas x

Ds1 will be 5yo shortly before Christmas and I'll spend up to £100 for each event. He is having a bike this Christmas though so that may eat up more of the budget for his main present, so in reality I may spend up to £150 for Christmas. Dd2 is 1yo and I'll probably spend about £60-70 on her. I tend not to stick to a strict budget but get a main present for each and then smaller ones - the main present can be around £40 and might be something like Lego City. It's not about spending lots but more about having enough presents to open and get excited by. Many toys he'll love are actually small, like a small plush angry bird toy which I know he'll be delighted by.

My family have only ever spent a maximum of about 20-30 quid on xmas presents now we're older (probably not more when we were younger as there was five of us and money was tight) and we have a large family, so while I could afford to spend hundreds on them at xmas I'd never do it, as it would be so disproportionate, and I want to make sure he plays with everthing he gets.

DS1 is 4 and we spent about 60 quid on presents for his birthday (plus a tenner to attend a show) and for his xmas maybe 80 quid.

DS2 is 6 months and really we'd have gotten him nothing but for the fact we have DS1 who would be gutted if santa never got his little brother anything, so will spend 10-20 quid on him (just to fill a stocking and give him a little present).

I have four DC, aged 7, 5, 4 and 4. I've spent £38 on a joint present, and about £35 each (and £5 for stockings). So nearly £50 each.

DS is a 22/12 baby last year he was 1 think we spent about £50 between bday and Xmas this year it might be a little more but not much. He has a house full of toys and books both sets of our parents, siblings, friends with kids will buy him stuff so he will be overloaded over the 2 days so seems pointless.

I love buying him stuff though so am sure next year will be a different story

£300 for DH and £300 for DD. I have spent over £1000 on DH. This year Im skint so wont be spending anywhere near as much. It depends on how much money is in the Bank at the time.
