Control crying - help me do it!

Ds is 7 months - he is well and he doesn't have a dummy or a comforter (whereas Dc1&2 had one).
He also dislike being on his back or sleeping on his front.
So I know how to let him cry when he goes down in the evening. But what to do when he wakes up at night? Same as bedtime (conttolled crying) or just settle him myself until he is asleep and then put him in bed? At the moment sometimes I let him have a bottle (which he doesn't drink, just sick a bit before falling asleep) or let him breastfeed (again suck a bit and sleep). If I don't do this it might take an hour each time to settle him, shhushing him and walking him around the room.
As Dc1&2 had either a comforter or a dummy, it was easy at night, but for dc3 I'm a bit lost...
What do you think? Let him cry it out at night as well?
Anyone did this?
Thanks

No worries. To be honest, my DS is 7 months and I still feed him when he wakes, as long as it is longer than 9/10 hours since his last feed and if he seems sleepy then I put him back down and sometimes he will sleep for another couple of hours, so just whatever works for you.

I tried to get him up when he first woke like Ferber says to do, but we were both knackered ( he barely naps during the day so needs a decent sleep overnight). Now I out him down at 7ish, he will usually wake around 4/5, I'll feed him and then he sleeps til around 8am. That works for me :)

Cc worked really well for DS1 at 6 months old, never had to use sleep training for DS2 and now that I'm trying it for DS3, I can say that cc is not for him. I tried to be "tough" one night, let him sleep in his cot, working my way from 5 to 10 minutes, did not feed him when he woke and that was an awful night + the following day he was in an awful mood...
So last night, he slept in our bed as usual and I breastfed him whenever he awoke and we had a great restful night!
So today I gave him his evening bottle and although he didn't seem sleepy as usual, I put him down his cot. He fell asleep with me stroking his back - major achievement! I used to have to either feed him or rock him to sleep...

So we'll take it from there and I might try to gradually withdraw at night time...

What I wanted to say is, if cc doesn't feel right for your baby, it is better to stop!
