Lately ive been looking in the mirror and trying to work out whats different about me. My hair looks worse then normal, my skin looks dull and tired and although im slimmer then pre-pregnancy everything seems to be going south. Ive got loads of those bloody thread veins too to add to my stretchmarks. Its just crept upon me im looking older.I look like im constantly frowning as my eyes look are so heavy and dark. These sleepless nights are starting to take its toll.Ive just gone and brough every anti wrinkle, firming cream going in a panic.

my hair has definitely started going grey since having kids Shock

noddyholder · 03/04/2006 11:45

I think even if you are really slim well put together etc there is just something that is different once you have children Not sure what it is though as my hair is still ok-ish and I have reasonable skin/clothes etc but I still look rough compared to before ds and although he is 11 now it started straight away.

sandyballs · 03/04/2006 11:46

Yes, I've aged 10 years in the last 5.

fuzzywuzzy · 03/04/2006 11:47

yes these white hairs, these bags under my eyes, this saggy baggy body... definitely caused by the two monsters in my life....

Strangely dp is not so afflicted, but then he always looked like this.....

hulababy · 03/04/2006 11:50

Definitely. Although no gray hairs yet Grin there are other signs. I now have permanent dark circles under my eyes and my skin is duller and drier than before. And my weight is a constant pain. I know I could try harder and make more effort, but that was so much easier to do and fit in before having DD.

Wouldn't change it all though. Having DD around makes up for it.

lazycow · 03/04/2006 12:29

I was going grey before having ds. I certainly looke terrible when he was sleeping badly. He still isn't great but a lot better. I think I look better now than I have for years actually

Sorry but there it is.

welshmum · 03/04/2006 12:38

Sleep is getting back to normal now and I've lost a bit of that greyness on my face. I think the start of spring will help.
I've decided to review my make-up - get a new tinted moisturiser to add some colour, keep up with getting my highlights done and try to look presentable for the summer.
It's bloody hard work fitting in around my two though.

gegs73 · 03/04/2006 12:41

Hell yes! Definitely not quite the same as I was before I had ds. Not looking forward to seeing any further affects after no2 Shock

Dophus · 03/04/2006 12:43

Definitely:

more grey hair,
permanent bags under the eyes (good for storing nappies).
wrinkles everywhere
general sagging
a tum that will never see the sun again

I could go on...

moondog · 03/04/2006 12:45

Ruined my back and arms

desperateSCOUSEwife · 03/04/2006 13:02

nah still gorgeous

kate100 · 03/04/2006 13:14

Fatter, greyer, tireder..... I could go on. At least DH is joining meon the journey to old age yesterday he found his first grey eyebrow, loving wifey that I am I yanked it straight out Grin

bluejelly · 03/04/2006 13:38

Felt the same way for first coupla years after childbirth... you do recover most of your pre-child bloom by the time he/she is aged 2, but not all of it i reckon.

Pagan · 03/04/2006 13:40

Absolutely. Used to have bags of energy and quite youthful looking but now look ancient, crabby, lines on face, pasty skin, tufty, patchy hair, creaks and groans from bones ....

wilbur · 03/04/2006 14:00

Yes. I am 247 years old.

schneebly · 03/04/2006 14:06

face still looks young but a bit tired at times but have body of 60 year old and am starting to get all cynical like an old person. Grin

GDG · 03/04/2006 14:08

Most definitely - I have aged a lot in 5 yrs - it's the permanent exhaustion of running round after 3 small boys. Figure has gone rubbish (imo) though still slim but facially I look a lot older I think. I think I look haggard!

JoolsToo · 03/04/2006 14:10

OMG - pass me the Kleenex! - you're gawjuss Grin

Twiglett · 03/04/2006 14:11

but you're older anyway .. how would you have known how hagard you would've looked if you hadn't had kids ?

Angeliz · 03/04/2006 14:15

YES!!!
I look ay pictures off a few years ago and think i look so young.
On a boasty note thoughWink, woman in Asda yesterday when i was chatting about my kids said she was 27 when she had her first. I said i was too and am on my third now at 32. She said she though i was only about 24!! and wondered if i'd started young.

Made my day!!Grin

WestCountryLass · 03/04/2006 15:14

I really noticed this the other day, I have grey hair and really dry skin, I am thirtysomething in an OAP shell, I tell you :(

GDG · 03/04/2006 15:35

Ah Jools, but you are my mother so even if I was dog rough you'd think I was gorgeous!

Good point twig - I've always looked young for my age but I don't think I do now.
