Is there going to be an Easter holidays potty-training support thread?

And if so, can I be in it? Dd2 is 2.3, I'm sure she's old enough, I just have to psych myself into doing it, and need someone to bully me.

DAY TWO IN THE POTTY-TRAINING HOUSE

Hardly surprising it all seemed such hard work yesterday - I woke up at 1.30 a.m. with raging mastitis and got no sleep for the rest of the night Sad.

But I don't want to move backwards after a good start, so I've been slogging away keeping it up. No accidents so far, just a pair of damp knickers which I think was my fault for using a wipe rather than loo roll. And a malteser-size poo from her too (will I ever be able to eat a malteser again??).

She is napping now and I think I'll join her!

Grin at not being able to eat maltesers anymore, i felt the same!

Well my update is that we had no more progress but to be fair, we were running about at a friends so he was very excited, not the best idea for day 1 training but hey, we didn't make a fuss at all the accidents and he didn't ask for a nappy at all which is a really big thing for ds as he always panicked before :)

Going to give him a bath in a mo and put a pull up on tonight, just hope he is happy to accept big boys pants again in the morning!

He's had 3 wet accidents this afternoon. One was on the sofa a couple of minutes after I'd asked him to sit on the potty for a bit. Not sure if this is normal or suggests he doesn't have bladder control??

Anyway, fingers crossed for the morning. Good luck to everyone else :)

eek, tomorrow is our last day of nappies (bar nights) and i am getting nervous!

anyone else deciding to use a "currency" for potty training? Dd rarely gets chocolate, and never from us, so we have decided that 1 choccie button for a wee and 2 for a poo might be a good incentive.

need to stock up on buttons!!!

Fishy imput puhlease :) Grin

sounds like things are going great for you wessexgirl ! my plan had been to start properly this weekend but little one has come down with a really bad cold and a cough that is stopping her from sleeping so have decided to postpone. To be honest thinking about now delaying until she is 2, only 2 months away but after reading some comments from everyone dont know if she is ready. Have just ordered Gina Fords book, so think may read that and see who i find it and re-assees then.

What should I do now? Have started training ds (day three). Have had very mixed results, but mainly wees in pants. Yesterday he did poo in potty. Now he has developed diahorrea!!! Should I stop? (I couldn't bear to go through the last two days again!) I need him to be trained before the end of the Easter holidays. Help!!!

omg tomorrow is knickers day!!!!!!

shit!!!!! will she get it???????? argh!!!!

wessexgirl · 09/04/2006 20:20

How old is ds, LJay? If he has a stomach upset I'd postpone for a day or two till it clears up - there's still a week and a half of Easter hols left (at least, round hereabouts). Best of luck.

Day 3 for us and no accidents at all - we even went for a walk along the seafront and she waited until we got home to do a wee. I'd taken a small potty but she said she doesn't like the little potty and wanted to wait till she could go on the big one! She's a star. I'm waiting for it all to go pear-shaped tomorrow...

He is nearly 3 - so quite late really. No other episodes since yesterday, so I really don't know what it was all about and I am hoping it won't continue. All is ok, except he hasn't once asked to sit on potty yet - oh well....

Hello. You all seem to be doing really well with the potty training Smile. I was planning on starting on Thursday but am now not sure - need advice from you all. DD (2) has been having tummy ache on and off for a month, and says it hurts to poo. We are waiting for a hospital referal but that is just a precaution. Doc said to up fluids and fruit etc and that all kids go throught his and the phase normally passes. Given that she isn't pooing regularly (sorry, tmi!) should I leave the potty training for a few weeks??? I'm not sure what to do for the best.
