Right come on tell me three kids are going to be great!

After a depressing sunday lunch with friends where they were listing the reasons why they wouldn't have a third child - the reasons seemed all too convincing in my current sore-throated, fat, backaching state.

Having three kids is terrible. You need at least four.

Rhubarb · 23/01/2006 13:06

Ugh! More kids? No way! I'd rather have a pet dog.

Dinosaur · 23/01/2006 13:08

It's fab, Enid, honestly. Promise.

I have 3 and they are great

Rhubarb · 23/01/2006 13:14

0 is better!

motherinferior · 23/01/2006 13:16

I am jealous, although not quite jealous enough to take plunge/bite bullet/other expressions which I'm now feeling dodgy about because of the degradation thread.

PrincessPeaHead · 23/01/2006 13:16

Enid leave it a week or two and then I'll send you all my maternity clothes....

THree is great, makes you realise how safe and dull two is. As is saying three is no good because you can't get back into your boden jeans as fast, snore snore.
Lovely to see them all interacting with each other, much more interesting family dynamic etc etc etc.

I would say that though, wouldn't I....

Dinosaur · 23/01/2006 13:17

Bear in mind, though, that three is already considered a bit - well, lower-middle these days, so you'll have to follow PPH and go for four if you want to be smart...

Holidays generally cater for parents and 2 kids, family tickets to theme parks etc. Most things either come in twos or fours, so having an odd number will turn out to be more expensive!

Someone has to balance out the positives here with a few negatives!!!!!

Oh and after 3, you can kiss goodbye to any semblance of a figure you might have had!

jamiesam · 23/01/2006 13:21

Enid, you are not fat, you are fabulously, gloriously pregnant. I am longing to be pg with number 3. I've always enjoyed being pg as a time not to worry about weight etc!

I'm from a family of 5 and although mum always said that she put on half a stone for each of us ( and ), I know she wouldn't have had it any other way. We didn't miss out on anything major because of being tight for money. No chance of having 5 for me, but high hopes of brother/sister for my two lovely boys.

Enjoy your pregnancy, your friends are miseries!

Dinosaur · 23/01/2006 13:22

Yes, cod, really. Annoying, isn't it?

Enid · 23/01/2006 13:22

Oh right, you're already pregnant with no.3? Ooops! Err, yeah it'll be great! Really really good and stuff. I'll get mi coat!

Dinosaur · 23/01/2006 13:23

The figure bit is rubbish, actually. Admittedly I have more flab round my midriff than I did three years ago but that is mainly down to being 40, not doing enough exercise and having a fatal inability to stop snacking!

Well, since I started straightening my hair, I've had lots of compliments on my appearance, so not too bothered about the midriff, although I don't like the feeliing of it wobbling when I run upstairs.

I think the answer is probably not to run upstairs, actually.

Rhubarb · 23/01/2006 13:27

(is it too late to say congrats then?!)
