I live in the north. My DD is 12 months and I may have to put her in a day nursery for perhaps 1 morning per week, but none of them display on the website how much it will be.

TIA

The one I'm looking at is £29 for a full day, and I think it's £15.50 for a half-day (up to 5 hours).

Meglet · 16/01/2012 17:50

About £44 a day. So probably half that if you just want a morning. The morning would probably include breakfast and lunch (I know my DC's nursery does).

DoodleAlley · 16/01/2012 17:51

I think it can really vary according to area. Close to where I live you're paying around £46 per day buy if you are prepared to go further away it can go down by a tenner.

I am in lancashire. Mine charges £154 for full time pw

Timeoutofmind · 16/01/2012 17:56

Ok thank you, that gives me an idea as I was completely clueless before.

Can anyone tell me if they do inspection reports? Or if there's any way I find out which ones are good?

I'm in South East and its £48.95 8am-6pm. Have to supply nappies, wipes, cream etc.

DoodleAlley · 16/01/2012 18:00

Ofsted inspect nurseries you can find their reports online thru google

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 16/01/2012 18:01

east anglia - about £40-50 a day

Bumf · 16/01/2012 18:03

I pay £36 per day, includes meals. Some ask you to bring your own nappies, some provide them. Half day is about £20. Once. Your little one is 3 they will be entitled to 15 hours per week, however really varies how each nursery works this out.

Bumf · 16/01/2012 18:05

Meant to say, that's in a village on outskirts of York.

lechatnoir · 16/01/2012 22:27

I'm in Kent and the average is £50-60 a day and £30-35 for a half day - meals included!

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 16/01/2012 22:30

I am in the North West, and pay £43per day including all meals and snacks. That is expensive for the area, but we're really happy with provision.

ThaTiow · 16/01/2012 22:39

Wow maybe I should move.....I am based Sw London and it's costing me 65-70 a day!!! And there's a massive waiting list of which many ask for 50 (non refundable) just to go on.

BuntyCollocks · 17/01/2012 18:04

I'm on the Wales/England border. £35 full day, £22 half day, lunches for a half day are £2.50 extra, and have to supply wipes. Other than that, everything included.

MrsKitty · 17/01/2012 18:06

I think we pay £43 per day (try not to think about it!) in Cardiff

FrillyMilly · 17/01/2012 18:07

I'm I'm lancashire and they cost an average of £35 for a full day.

Littlefish · 17/01/2012 19:11

You may find that nurseries are unwilling to offer only one morning a week. It really isn't enough time for a child to settle properly.

Wigeon · 17/01/2012 19:17

!!

Hertfordshire: £55 to £65 a day.

RedHotPokers · 17/01/2012 19:22

£24 per half day incl. lunch and breakfast.

allagory · 17/01/2012 19:26

£64 a day in Herts...Sounds like it might be worth sending him on a Ryanair flight up North every day!

BikeRunSki · 17/01/2012 19:49

West Yorkshire 9rural, not Leeds/Bradford), £36.50/day including breakfast, lunch and tea, but not nappies.

purepurple · 17/01/2012 20:00

You might not get a place for just one morning. Most nurseries wouldn't take her because it is not long enough for her to be settled.
I work in a nursey and we don't advertise our prices on the website because the information can be out of date.
You can always ring a few and ask them their rates. they will be more than happy to tell you over the phone.
As for Ofsted reports, remember they can be out of date too, as they only inspect every 2-3 years and they can only report on what they see on the day. The reports are not always an accurate indication of the quality of the provision.
The best way to judge a nursery is to make an appointment and look around a few yourself.

Tootingbec · 17/01/2012 20:09

£80 per day for a 1 year old in my part of London village!! And I get paid the same as colleagues who work from our Manchester office......Oh well, at least I can get my eyebrows threaded for £2 down Tooting High Rd...

I too think that putting my two on a Ryanair flight to Leeds/Bradford airport might be cheaper.....

hackneyzoo · 17/01/2012 20:23

I'm in the NE and the one I use charges £3 per hour, it's run by sure start.
The one I used when I lived in East London was £24 per day (9am-3pm)

Tequilamockinbird · 17/01/2012 20:25

I'm in the North East and the one near us which my DD used to go to is £41 a day or £25.50 a half day.

The price comes down about once the child turns 2
