When did your DC go from 'Mummy' to 'Mum'?

My 3yo DS: 'Mummy, some people call their Mummy Mum. Can I call you Mum?'

My DD, 2.10 has just started trying out mum, I told her I wasn't called mum, I was mummy or mama but mum was someone else's mum. Now I just say 'pardon' when she says it. I refuse to let her grow up yet!

Around 7ish I think but dd2 aged 4 goes between mummy and mum depending on her mood. Trust me being called mum is fine. Dd1 aged 11 usually just grunts at me nowadays.

Ds kept up the mummy until he was 8 or 9! I thought it wa lovely but dh thought it was soppy even though he's Irish and the adults still refer to mum as mammy!

Never been mummy. I hate it. Too twee for me.

My 10 year old still calls me Mummy... all of the other younger ones do too. I absolutely will not be called Mum - I would rather they called me by my Christian name than Mum because for some reason I hate it.

7 or 8 I think and it does feel like something is lost forever when it happens!

Ds1 is 9 and has, for the last few months, mainly been calling me Mum (although the occasional "Mummy" has slipped out!) However, ds2 has now followed suit and is also calling me Mum - he's only 5 and far to little IMHO. I'm not ready to be a Mum...

Ds is ten. I'm "Mummy" or "Mamma" when he's messing around.

He occasionally describes me as "my mum" but it's usually "my mother". I'm with pinky on this one: I don't like "Mum". I went from calling my mother "Mummy" to calling her "mother"

I'm still waiting and DD is not far off being 16! Her choice. She has been told, for quite a few years, she can call us Mum and Dad, but she hasn't bothered! She does it in front of her friends too, so clearly it's not a problem to her.

She refers to my best friend and her husband (her god parents) Aunty X and Uncle Y too!

I quite like it.

Pinky, I think you'd have to be uber posh to get away with that one! Kids here would be bullied severely if they were still using mummy at age 16/17 for example....

DD is 9y and still calls me mummy. Most of her friends say mummy and daddy still.

I was 13 when I stopped . DD is 9 and the DS's are still little so they all still do.

DS is 4 and he's giving it a try. I abbreviate his name (which he hates m doing) in return

We are not posh and neither does DD get bullied about it. Otherwise, she wouldn't do it.

The first three were 7 or 8. I think the younger three were younger. They copied the bigger ones I think.

I wouldn't want to be called mummy by an adult DC.

No DC but I still say Mummy at 32. I didn't ever think of it as an issue until the rector commented on it. Am considering trying out Mother instead. I think it has a nice ring to it.

I think I will have to work on being uber posh then because I am telling you it aint going to happen...............
