I am apparently a cruel, cruel mother according to random lady in Tesco. Are you?

Cruel she called me. Actually followed me down the aisle berating me and asking 'poor, poor, sweet little' DD (yeah right!) if she was ok.

My crime?

I let DD carry the loaf of bread. She asked to carry it. It was a half sized loaf. She was perfectly happy and enjoying helping. Believe me she would have dropped it if under any strain or discomfort Hmm Grin

DD is nearly 3. Apparently this is akin to child cruelty and needs intervention. DD who is well known for her withering looked, looked at her as if she was barking (perceptive) and hugged the bread tighter. This just caused more horror.

So what random things have strangers decided you do which makes you a bad parent? I am used to the DS2 not having any socks thing but it is his main mission in life to lose as many as possible. But this one seemed rather odd...

The best i ever had was a family worker at a childrens centre who berated me for leaving DD2 asleep in the pushchair outside the room where the toddler group was being held. This was inside a controlled exit/entry childrens centre with a receptionist who signed everyone in and out. And DD2 was asleep and strapped in the buggy. Not sure what could have happened to her in the 5 mins i'd left her.....

And my DD1 asks to do chores! Her favourite 'game' at the moment is sweeping so she sweeps the carpets for hours.

I once had a random woman on the street in very early autumn, tell me off because my 2 and half year old son wasn't wearing a coat. When I tired to point out to her he had just run all the way into town (20 mins) and had taken it off himself as he was hot. This just made her more angry, yelled at me that DH and I were wearing coats and we should force DS to wear his. she then kept on saying she was going to tell the next police officer she saw and get them to call SS.

Stupid interefering f**king woman. Good thing he was running and not sitting in the pushchair because he probably would have taken his shoes and sock off too!
