Fab tutor gave me an extension & organised a home exam for me.

But I still have to do the bloody work

So crack the whip & shout (but quietly as I am very sore and stiff today)

Oh no! poor you, i dont know much about the OU setup..whats the next step? can you redo it soon?

If it makes you feel any better I will tell you my major f*ck up story. I had to interview a nursery worker, for less than 5 minutes on video to show my interpersonal skills, use of eye contact etc. I had such a hard time finding anyone who would agree. Did it, felt nervous but was happy it was done, sat down to view the video and write a self assessmnet......I had turned away from the camera and the video is of my back talking to the woman. I have no idea how i can redo it at this point and feel like a total fool

Oh no littleducks how awful

Are you too far away for me to be of use? (I'll be in Cambridge late afternoon Thursday if it helps)

I have no idea what to do - I really thought is was OK; not good you understand, but OK

Katy poor you Sad

Is there substitution on your course? What is your current OCAS? What % was it worth overall?

KatyMac · 15/03/2011 17:23

Umm I don't really know as I have never failed before - my last failure was my driving test I think in '85 ShockBlush

I'll have a look

Will you be getting any feedback so you can understand where you went wrong?

(Oh thanks for the offer to help btw, but im outskirts of london so miles away)

KatyMac · 15/03/2011 17:47

"There is a continuous assessment component and an examinable component.

The continuous assessment component comprises 2 TMAs. Your overall continuous assessment score (OCAS) is determined from your scores for these assignments weighted at 50% each.

Your overall examinable component score (OES) is the score you achieve on the end of module assessment (EMA).

Substitution does not apply.

To be sure of passing, you need to achieve: (a) at least 40 on TMA 01; (b) at least 40 on TMA 02; and (c) at least 40 on OES."

So I guess I have to re-do it

I have shedloads of feedback - whether I'll understand it I'm not sure

Have to say Katy that it sounds like a re-take to me :( Is this for a 10 point one? I would contact your regional centre and ask their advice in these circumstances. Was this one TMA 01 or TMA 02?

littleducks · 15/03/2011 17:59

If you don't understand the feedback could you meet up/discuss on phone with your lecturer/tutor (my lack of knowledge of OU is shining through now) to discuss it?

KatyMac · 15/03/2011 18:03

30 pt level 3

Will talk to tutor but not today I'm dealing with health stuff atm

littleducks · 16/03/2011 14:41

Is that 84%?

KatyMac · 16/03/2011 15:04

Yep 84%

Blimey

There doesn't seem to be a facility to re-submit (I am checking)

OP posts:
mmsmum · 17/03/2011 13:31

84% is amazing, maybe your tutor was on the wine when marking the other one Wink

At least you submitted it, that's better than I've managed! Sad

KatyMac · 17/03/2011 16:59

The one I worked harder on I got the lower mark Confused
