MFMNF - I haven't even read the other thread - but that was what I remembered from a while back. (I don't think anyone would disagree that long hours stuck in front of it is bad for them) .

weesaidie · 19/09/2005 11:33

coppertop - that is exactly what dd did this morning... must be a family tradition. I kept drinking my mums leftovers so she started to give my own tea from about 2yrs!

Ulysees · 19/09/2005 11:49

Ds2 and my mates DS were watching wrestling b4 school this morning But DS1 and mates DD1 were reading with me so I'm not all bad

slug · 19/09/2005 11:57

Oh please, you lot are all lightweights.

The sluglet regularly has watered down wine with her Sunday lunch. She is known by name in the pub (practically has her own glass behind the bar), she draws anotomically correct pictures of her daddy, can name a large range of wine varieties (usually in a loud voice in Tesco's wine aisle). Her favourite dinner of the moment is 5 varieties of cheese with tomatoes and celery sticks...which she gets as often as she likes because it takes 2 minutes to prepare, ans she firmly believes that it is her job as 'little cook' to taste food at every stage of it's preparation (raw egg anyone?)

Ulysees · 19/09/2005 11:59

pmsl slug . How old is sluglet?

slug · 19/09/2005 13:18

Oh she's a big girl, she's 3

Kidstrack2 · 19/09/2005 13:32

I'm a bad mother because..... I let ds go to bed with his uniform on, that way theres no need to get him dressed in the morning, he gets a bar of choc on the way to school and one on the way home, he then plays Ps2 all day till teatime then at teatime he has Turkey Twizzlers! LOL None of this is true but has made me laugh!

mugface · 19/09/2005 13:40

I'm a bad mum because:

I hardly ever invite their friends round for tea

I have grabbed ds2 up by the scruff of the neck (his school jumper) this morning.

I call daddy names within earshot

i threaten them with boarding school

I sell their toys on e bay without asking first

need i go on?

bev1e · 19/09/2005 14:16

DD2 drinks the dregs from the wine bottles discarded in the recycling bin!

(On falling over and hurting herself recently daddy asked what would make her better, to which she responded "a glass of white wine, daddy!)

fickle · 19/09/2005 14:30

I get cross with them a lot (then feel guilty)
They watch too much TV.
I say lets go to the park then can't be bothered.
Sometimes I forget to brush their teeth in the morning.
Weekends have no set bedtime.
During school hols was rarely dressed before lunch if not going out.
HAte tidying their room because with an hour it is the same again. Whats the point.
I don't make an effort with some mums as much as Icould if I don't like them, even if the kids get on well with theirs.

And on and on ...........

SleepyJess · 19/09/2005 14:31

...My house looks like a shit hole and I don't care

handlemecarefully · 19/09/2005 14:32

My 3 year old dd is very occasionally - like when I'm drinking it at a restaurant - allowed some diet coke (this is an absolute 'no no' amongst the self righteous contingent of mumsnetters ; a crime almost on a par with infanticide), she also drinks apple juice quite often rather than just plain water, and has been allowed to taste beer (happily she doesn't like it).

She watches up to 2 hours of tv a day and I have been known to swear in her presence.

Perhaps a little shame facedly I'll admit I do embroil her in trivial arguments with dh, getting her to align with me in my camp

I may be a flawed mum but at least I'm not a smug one!

SleepyJess · 19/09/2005 14:39

Yeah HMC... I'm with you.. I'd prefer to be a shit mum rather than a smug one..

stitch · 19/09/2005 14:42

my sisters boss told her to go play an hour of playstation a day to help with her surgical skills!

im not joking. the ocntrols for the keyhole surgery type thing are very very similar to playstation, and she couldnt get the hang of them. hence her homework.

harpsichordcarrier · 19/09/2005 15:07

I just let her have two ice-creams in a row; drew the line at a third one though [angelic emoticon]

weesaidie · 19/09/2005 15:48

lol HMC. There is nowt worse than smugness and self-righteousness....

Luckily I am so neglectful of my poor dd there is no danger of that!

QueenOfQuotes · 19/09/2005 16:04

picked DS1 up from school 1hr ago, and gave both Ds's a little pack of Haribo sweets for afterschool snack

ScrewballMuppet · 19/09/2005 16:05

they eat too many crisps and sweets
watch far too much television don't
get out enough
don't do enough with them
and inconsistent discipline

I'm sure those mums out there who seem to do everything perfect and see to themselves are robots.

ooh and I've told them not to callme mam any more to call me mum at least when they whinging it sounds more like a yoga chant easier to tune out mum mum mum mum mum mum mum mum

staceym11 · 19/09/2005 16:29

........because my dd (10mth) gets squash instead of water,

drinks coke if mummy or daddy have it,

drinks grandads ginger beer from her big girl cup,

eats chocolate when mummy wants some,

eats daddys jaffa cakes,

i put her to bed if im tired so i can sleep (if she screams i get her up i aint that bad!)

i let her taste my beer (she hated it!)

she can spot a coke can from a mile off

she'll hapily beg strangers for chips

we get mc'donalds once a month (and she has a happy meal for herself! 'gasp')

and the list goes on..........

MrsForgetMeNotFul · 19/09/2005 21:44

.............but despite being so crap...my son's still come to me for cuddles!!!!

OP posts:
waterfalls · 19/09/2005 21:57

I put a chocolate bar in DS lunch bag every other day.

Ds watches t.v before school

I give DTs crisps when I am too busy to entertain them.

I dont take them to the park often enough

I dont always brush their teeth at bedtime.

I lose the plot sometimes!
I give them blackcurrant & orange squash rather than water.
Ds1 has a packet of crisps in his lunchbox every day.
I let them sit in front of the TV, so that I can have 5 mins peace!
Ds2 (2.5) has been known to have a quick slurp of my wine, from time to time!
Ds2 still has a dummy & sometimes sucks it in the daytime!!!
I could go on & on!
