I am guilty of dwelling on the negatives when it comes to the health and behaviour of my ds.

So say something positive about your offspring (boasting encouraged)

Ds is the best because he knows all about the feeding habits of basking sharks. And he is only 3.

My DS (2.11) is the best because he's smart, beautiful, polite, funny and he charms everyone he meets. He can put on a DVD, turn my computer on and find the CBeebies website and use my shiny new camera - including turning it to 'view' so he can show everyone the photos he's just taken. A true 21st century boy.

And he often tells me I look 'super-lacky-whata-whata-boo-boo-beautiful'. I fall in love with him all over again every single day.

This is a lovely thread. It's great to be able to celebrate the good things about our children and to be encouraged to share them without being accused of boasting. I just love being a parent, don't you?

littleun · 14/09/2005 16:00

Ds is the best because he has to tell me he loves me every hour of the day even in public.
Also because he is just like a mini version of his dad in looks and mannerism, and that just makes me love him more.

bundle · 14/09/2005 17:00

mine are best because they are fluffy fantastics

Because although ds only has one sentence, it's 'Oooooh yeah, mama - taaa!'

Such a polite boy. Maybe some elocution lessons in the future, though...

DD1 (3) is the best because she is so sweet to her little sister (5months) and tries to include her in everything (when she is not twisting both her arms off that is)

DD2 is the best because she never talks back or makes me negotiate. She just smiles and chortles (and watches DD1, and learns. Shudder)

because she ran into Tescos today shouting "I'm the best girl in the woooooooorld!"
I have created a monster...

bonym · 14/09/2005 18:02

DD1 (7) is the best because she is kind and thoughtful and always giving (nice) stuff to her friends and family and will leave the last sweet/chocolate/cake (anything in fact) for someone else rather than have it herself.

DD2 (6 months) is the best because she has the best giggle and smile in the world and is the scrummiest, yummiest little bundle there ever was

happymerryberries · 14/09/2005 18:04

They both went to the dentist toady without making any fuss at all! And neither needs anything done to their teeth!

colditz · 14/09/2005 18:49

Because when people comment on what long eye lashes he has, he flutters them on purpose.

Because when he is proud, he's not just proud, he is visibly proud.

he is 2.5

nell12 · 14/09/2005 19:42

my ds and dd are the best because they put up with me!
Too many other reasons to list

Cooperoo · 14/09/2005 19:42

What a lovely heartwarming thread. It has made me quite soppy.
My dd1 (2.5)is the best because she takes everything in her stride with a confidence I still don't think I have after nearly 30 years. She also gives the BEST kisses and 'cuggles' and plays in her room in the mornings until I go into her even though her door is open.
My dd2 (12 weeks) is the best because she is such a happy baby full of smiles and is very patient putting up with with dd1 charging around her and making lots of noise and she is just scrummy!

stacijc · 14/09/2005 19:49

my children are the best because they have a fantastic innocence and they are amazed by the smallest things (DS1..2.5, DS2...5 months)

btw i am feeling fragile at the mo and this thread made me cry!

Amai · 14/09/2005 22:29

My dd is the best because her first word sounds like it might be SHHHHH1T!!! Cool or what and I dont know where the f### she get's it from.

Mandymoo · 14/09/2005 23:03

DD is the best because:-

she says what she thinks and she makes me laugh

she gives me cuddles and kisses

she's always asking questions and listens to what i have to say (unlike dh!)

she's very independent and willful and i'm just so proud of her

she tells me "to be patient mummy" when i start rushing around trying to get things done

I LOVE HER LOADS !!!! XXXX

What a lovely thread X

Monkeysmom · 15/09/2005 13:15

My son is the best because although he is only 17 months, he understands two languages and points at his little nose when asked in either.
He also has a great sense of humour and he is very, very affectionate, giving loads of kisses to everybody. For me, he is the most amazing little man

WideWebWitch · 15/09/2005 20:59

Dd is so gorgeous I want to eat her and ds is a sweet kind lovely boy who makes my heart melt. They both do.

Groggymama · 15/09/2005 22:15

ds1 because he is small, dark and cheeky and ds2 because he is big, blond and chunky and because they've both been in bed since 8!

SpikeMomma · 15/09/2005 22:17

My boy's the best because he's just learnt to smile. The biggest smiles come when he vomits or wee's on me...

He did his first giggle yesterday - without parting with any bodily fluid. I was blessed. I'm definatley blessed to have him. He's the best thing i've ever done. ahhh.

Is there a full moon? Loads of lovely threads. I'm grateful to my sister for turning me on to Mumsnet.

Melpomene · 15/09/2005 23:12

DD1 (2.4) is the best because she is always giving dd2 cuddles and kisses. Also when I cook she runs to pull up a chair next to the worktop so she can help with the cooking. She makes smashing pizzas.

DD2 (4 months) is the best because she is sooo smiley. She smiles at strangers in the street and she even smiled at the nurse who had just given her her vaccinations!

FrumpyGrumpy · 15/09/2005 23:57

DD1 is the best because she told me in a very passionate and surprised way age 2ish "you have eyes like a owl, they're beautiful".

Also because she has coped better than me to sharing the time we used to have together with the DTs.

DT1 is the best because she has been dancing her pants off since before she could walk.

DT2 is the best because at a tiny age he laughed when he farted and snogs my neck each night when I take him to his cot.

SleepyJess · 16/09/2005 00:00

DD is best because she said 'when I grow up I want to be beautiful like you mummy... and have knickers that go up my bottom..'

HuggyBear · 16/09/2005 00:01

Theyre my little angels
