am using them atm, as my laundry pile is huuuuuuuuge and need to catch up there. but the dispoables keep bloomin leaking. its driving me nuts, and i'm not sure if its gonna increaser my laundry loads, as for 2 days now dd3 nappy has leaked onto my trousers. yuuuuk! they just cant seem to cope with breastfed/small solids baby poo.

ds sometimes leak of a night if hes drank too much in the day but not of a day?

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 03/09/2005 22:29

GOOD GIRL LOCKETS!

Asda's ones are very good - I found Tescos leaked quite a bit!

Dad has had Jess in Huggies all last week while he was away with her and no leaks that he has told me of....

Lonelymum · 03/09/2005 22:29

Obviously you aren't too likely to want to bother doing this if you have washables and are only using disposables for a short time, but my advice to others would be to try out different nappies. I never got to grips with Huggies but Pampers and all supermarket brands worked fine for me.

Ameriscot2005 · 03/09/2005 22:30

I've never had leaking (5 children). Are you doing them up tight enough?

misdee · 03/09/2005 22:31

right better go do another load of laundry, its never ending atm. cant wait till they are back at school and dd1 will only have her school uniform and the not the current 3 changes of clothes as she changes when she gets a bit dirty/wet/bored.

Used Tesco for both DS's and never had a leak.

Sainsbury were AWFUL, Morrisons are rather like Tesco Value (ok duirng the day but leak at night) and Pampers and Huggies are just overpriced

misdee · 03/09/2005 22:32

i have had 3 in disposables at various times, but its the breastfeed poo they arent coping with. dd3 explodes twice a day, and i change her ASAP, but by then its already leakign any of anywhere possible.

i guess with cloth, the poo has to get past the nappy then the wrap lol.

MrsSpoon · 03/09/2005 22:33

I do think after using cloth you lose the knack of putting a 'sposie on properly but I think once you have used resuables you will never go back.

QueenOfQuotes · 03/09/2005 22:33

oh lucky you - I remember when I was BF DS1 he exploded once a WEEK! And they were huge (still never leaked though ) Thankfully it was almost always 5pm on the dot - when DH got home from work

BLANKfloozypuddingandpie · 03/09/2005 22:36

Oh, Misdee, are you putting them on the wrong way around!!

misdee · 03/09/2005 22:38

PMSL, i had to put them on backwards with dd2 at one point as she kept taking them off.

but i am putting them on right. i think. they go on her bum right?

BLANKfloozypuddingandpie · 03/09/2005 22:39

Yeah, that's a start!!

maisiemog · 03/09/2005 22:42

Ameriscot, I am amazed 5 children first of all and never having a leaky nappy in all that time second.

I am going to try for a second and then that's it!!!
Were yours breastfed incidentally, from the pov of nappy leaks?

serah · 03/09/2005 22:43

lol BFPAP

Tesco Ultra all the way round here. ASDA were found to be wanting in all departments, Huggies leak like an old rusty watering can and Morrisons were.. just not as good.

You're just used to cheating with all those layers

misdee · 03/09/2005 22:44

is it cheating? usually the nappy holds it well in itself, the wrap is just extra protection.

I only buy the best, MM

BLANKfloozypuddingandpie · 03/09/2005 22:45

You have to fasten them as well , though.

Ameriscot2005 · 03/09/2005 22:45

Yes, mine all breastfed well past nappy age.

misdee · 03/09/2005 22:45

cant i let dd3 fasten them? she can undo dispoables tho, haha.
