Oh yes!!! I was thrilled last week to discover I could buy 40 Tesco Value Nappies for almost £3 cheaper than 24 of the Pampers (they didn't have any Tesco own in the size we needed)

misdee · 24/08/2005 22:20

PMSL

where they any good?

well not fabulous - but better than the swim nappies

Leak everynight (so have to wash the sheets each morning - no hassle as I wash DS1's anyhow - long drawn out night time training LOL). But no leakage during the day, and no more nappy rash either

My mum once bought me some from Home Bargains. My dd's bum has never been so sore, i was nearly crying with her. I stick to the top 2 brands now.

QueenOfQuotes · 24/08/2005 22:41

Oh suzy - you don't need to stick to Pampers and Huggy's Tesco own are EXCELLENT (not the value one )

SleepySuzy · 24/08/2005 22:43

Well, I never want to see her like that again, it was very upsetting. She also had nappy rash when I tried her with cottons.

QueenOfQuotes · 24/08/2005 22:44

Well I've used Tesco own from birth with DS2 (who's now 21 months) and from about 3 months old with DS1 (who was toilet trained at 3yrs) - and neither of them EVER had nappy rash with Tesco own (or leaked either!).

misdee · 24/08/2005 22:45

sainsburys own use dto be similar style to huggies. no idea if they are anymore tho (well its been about 3yrs since i bought them). sainsburys pull ups are good tho.

Seconded that Tesco own are the best (well, obviously they are "someone" elses but don't know who)

One thing I can tell you though is that they are not Huggies, which leak like my outside tap.

Can't say I get excited by them though. They're, uhm, nappies, and ususally full of urine and doo doo.

myturn · 24/08/2005 23:24

I was HUGELY excited about my newborn nappies... the thrill seemed to wear off after that though. But yes, Tesco's own are very good.

SleepySuzy · 24/08/2005 23:26

Lots of votes of confidence for Tescos, are they really cheap? Might give them a try.

myturn · 24/08/2005 23:27

We found Tesco's were the only ones that came close to Pampers (didn't get on with Huggy's for some reason). And they often have offers on which helps.

QueenOfQuotes · 24/08/2005 23:29

Sleepy - DS2 is wearing the largest size now (size 6)

a pack of Pampers 24 pack - £5.85
a pack of Tesco - 24 pack - £3.84!!!

discodolly · 24/08/2005 23:31

Did you know...bit of useless information for you... that most of the different brand nappies apparently come out of the same factory but are just packaged differently? Don't bite my head off (am running scared after the furore my last post caused!!). Have just been away visiting friends up North and this factory is apparently near Scunthorpe. They told me about it as you can buy rejected boxes where too many or too little have been packed.

misdee · 24/08/2005 23:32

dd3 will be wearing a minkee minki tomorrow, i am all excited, they are so soft and scrummy.

OP posts:
myturn · 24/08/2005 23:32

discodolly, I heard that too and I believe it of some. Mind you, we tried Asda nappies and they definately were NOT of the same standard.

SleepySuzy · 24/08/2005 23:32

The big brands? Or supermarket ones as well?

expatinscotland · 24/08/2005 23:33

Tesco's own RULE! £14 for 2 packs, too.

QueenOfQuotes · 24/08/2005 23:33

packaged differently???? Well yes that's pretty obvious

But having used Saisnbury, Pampers, Huggies, Tesco (Value and Normal), and Morrisons nappies at various times I can safely say that they are NOT all the same! Morrison's own and Tesco Value are very similar (plastic type backing) - but that's where the similarities end!

misdee · 24/08/2005 23:34

is that the same as cereal partners uk making cereal for tescos as well as the people who make shredded wheat?
