lovely things about your kids?

Been finding things hard recently and started thinking of good things, the lovely things about my kids... dd is just so kind-hearted towards others, no malice in her; ds1 is full of fun and makes anyone smile to be around him; ds2 is so determined surely he'll never give up at anything...
What are the lovely things you see in yours?

OK good idea. Sometimes it helps to refocus on good things.................... My dd is so kind and gentle to her baby sister. It fills me with actual joy to see how the 5m olds face lights up when she sees her big sister.

booyhoo · 14/06/2010 21:44

when ds1 sees that i am stressing out with ds2 he will sing to him and make him laugh so i can breathe for 2 minutes. it reminds me just how lucky i am.

OneLieIn · 14/06/2010 21:45

I love the way dd says"come on dude" to ds and encourages him to do things he is scared of

I love the way he is so generous with his heart and his hugs

They can be little sods though

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 14/06/2010 21:45

I do this whenever I find things tough too. It really helps.

DD is sucjh a lively happy funny kid who makes you laugh and always wants to help out when your doing things, never gives up, always determined and is really really beautiful (and it's not just me that says so )

DS is the happiest little lad you could meet, he smiles all the time, chats away to himself and is quietly but wonderfully charming to everyone he meets (only 16mths old).

I'd go and kiss them but they are asleep and lovely as they are I do not want grumpy little woken up buggers on my hands

foureleven · 14/06/2010 21:47

Ahh this is nice. DD tells me most days something random that she loves about me. And it always comes out of the blue.

She'll say 'mummy, do you know I love you because your arm is soooooo soft'

It always makes me melt.

colditz · 14/06/2010 21:48

Ds1 automatically helps his brother down from high places, includes him in games, helps him to do things, tries to teach him to count etc - it's just so unthinkingly kind. He's the kindest child I know.

Ds2 is so convinced of his almightiness, his biggedity, his huge super sonic super sonic super sonic powerfulness, his extrafast running that it is east to forget that he is thirty nine inches tall and looks just like a cherub with it's wings lopped off.

WoodlandFaerie · 14/06/2010 21:49

oh i like this but have too many to list, so i will list three for each:

DD aged 3, almost 4:
She is extremely empathic. She understands when I am sad and knows how to make me smile. She can recognise that in others and cares about how people feel. She is sad if I am hurt, she worries about her cats, and if animals might be suffering. She feels the loss of her grandparents who she did not know as if she had really met them.
She has an extraordinary sense of humour - as above, she knows when to make me smile, and how to. She loves to make people laugh, in particular her new baby brother and she will do anything to do that, she is great at acting, at dancing silly dances, she laughs the biggest belly laughs at everything and anything.
She is fearless, and while this is proving to be a disadvantage at times atm, she is ready to try anything which makes her so much fun to be around, she rarely is too scared to do something, she rarely cries if she does not succeed, happy to get on with it again. She makes me proud at the confidence she has, something I do not recall having at her age.

dd2 and gecko are so kind to animals and really love bugs and snails and slugs

they name them and talk to them and take them for walks together, so cute

dd1 is witty and has a weird, funky, clever imagination for making weird contraptions

whomovedmychocolate · 14/06/2010 21:51

Mine make each other laugh and then they make me laugh and there is no sound more welcome in the world than children deliriously happy with something no more prosaic than their ability to gurn at each other.

WoodlandFaerie · 14/06/2010 21:53

I got so carried away I did not do DS!

He is 6 months:
He is extremely huggy. He loves his mama and already is able to put his arms out to have a hug from me.
He smiles ALL the time. He loves giving his big sister the biggest best of them all.
He is strong and robust and knows what he wants, not afraid to tell me even now.

OrmRenewed · 14/06/2010 21:55

Two of them are in bed.

bilbobobbins · 14/06/2010 21:56

Goober · 14/06/2010 21:57

bilbobobbins · 14/06/2010 21:57

DD (3.3) laughs often, and in the manner of Sid James

She is so generous with sharing her stuff with friends and family. And she is looking forward excitedly to being "the best big sister in the world".

Goober · 14/06/2010 21:58

No. I tried ever so hard to think of at least one lovely thing.
Nothing.

bilbobobbins · 14/06/2010 21:59

Am only joking.

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 14/06/2010 22:03

DS 21mths-When he laughs his face just breaks into the biggest smile and it's just the most infectious sound I've ever heard.

He is funny and shy and clever and has just the right amount of clinginess. He loves to be held close and covered in kisses and loves being tickled.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 14/06/2010 22:05

When they set each other off and get the giggles and cannot stop, and end up crying with laughter ( aged thirteen and eleven)

foureleven · 14/06/2010 22:06

Yes I agree, the time of night that this thread started was key to its success! Had you asked me at 7.30 I would have drawn a blank

TrinityTrinityTrinity · 14/06/2010 22:07

gecko is my youngest
she is 3 years 4 months

stressheaderic · 14/06/2010 22:08

My one and only DD, whom we waited such a long time for, is 16 weeks old.
When she breaks off while drinking her milk just to stare up at me and smile, I sometimes think I might burst with love. She is just brill.

hairymelons · 14/06/2010 22:09

This is a nice diversion.

I am constantly amazed that such an unattractive pair of fuckwits like DH and me have produced something so lovely. DS is a beauty to behold and is so sensitive, he feels everything so keenly. It's wonderful when he's happy because he's deliriously happy and throws his arms around you and hugs tight. He asks for 'mummy cuddles' all the time.

It's awful when he's upset though because he gets sooo upset. He's changing rooms at nursery at the minute and can't cope at all.

Goober was kidding of course.

bilbobobbins · 14/06/2010 22:12

trinity - is gecko her name tho?? (i picked one up once without realising it - well freaked me out)
