Its Rovere spazzolato naturale .....Its a mid colour to be honest as the light stuff was too shiney and the dark the flat is too small.
DD1 takes after dh with the sleeping she needs it so I think that we will just have to do 2 days on 1 day off so she can catch up kind of thing .
Glad your dd teacher seems to have a heart and she came out smiling I would have been in a flap all morning .
I am going to do some ironing now .........It looks like rain is on the way in is it raining in Milan ?

Francagoestohollywood · 16/09/2010 13:34

Rovere spazzolato naturale is my fav too!!!! well done woman!

No, it is not raining in Milan, I hope it won't as I'm looking forward to taking ds and his friend to football practice in 2 hrs time!

Ehm, it's raining here though argh! It looks like November out there. And I wanted to go to Friuli doc this weekend uffa.

Very jealous of your rovere Rosa - I do have wooden floors too but they are a rather orangey tone (not pine but definitely orangey), which makes all the furniture look odd. It does not really matter as this is temporary (?) accommodation but I am allowed to be a bit jealous non?

Bucharest · 16/09/2010 16:48

Marking place.

Back in Arse End.

Hope everyone is well! Will read backwards as I iron!

Francagoestohollywood · 16/09/2010 21:15

There is a type of wood that's particularly orangey, the name escapes menow.

Hello Buch, welcome back!

Sputnik · 17/09/2010 10:40

Hi Buch.
Floor sounds lovely Rosa.
Hope your DD will adjust soon Franca, it's a big step up from the cosiness of materna, isn't it? Heart rending to watch though.

Ok, question for you all: DD is about to enrol in swimming lessons, is a costume intero the done thing in piscina or will she be ok in bikini bottoms?

Rosa · 17/09/2010 12:39

Welcome back Buch .
Sput I would say costume to be honest and dn't forget the hat, flip flops or whatever !
Humid and rainy here not nice .Minirosa in her rain cover had a suana .
I have 2 birthday cakes to construct in the next few days and a simple one for dh as its his birthday on Tues but have to celebrate on Sunday. Me thinks its about time I started charging as I am getting a few too many requests via friends thng is I don't know how to say it. I have been offered ingredient money which is nice but some take me 3 hrs plus to do !

Francagoestohollywood · 17/09/2010 12:39

Bikini bottoms are totally fine. That's what dd used to wear until my aunt gave her a costume intero da piscina. Dd normally wears bikini bottoms at the seaside etc.

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 17/09/2010 12:40

Rosa, I agree you def should start charging! We want pics of course!

minervaitalica · 17/09/2010 12:46

Hi Buch! Welcome back, I hope you had a good holiday.

Rosa, is it iced cakes that you do? Very impressed by your success rate!

Reall cannot be bothered to work today... Roll on 5pm...

Sputnik · 17/09/2010 12:50

Hmm, 2 different replies there. DD always wears bikini bottoms on the beach but I wondered if the etiquette was different in piscina, esp given the Italian passion for having all the correct gear for everything. I might consult a mum in DD's class whose husband sometimes does swimming instruction.

Tough one Rosa, I am shocked no one offered you anything for cakes. Is this family or friends?

Sputnik · 17/09/2010 12:52

If it's non family maybe you can prepare a document with the various cake styles you do and the price next to them. Print some out and hand them to anyone asking for a cake.

Francagoestohollywood · 17/09/2010 12:59

Lol at the right gear, I agree! But I find that people are quite laid back about swimming gear, at least at the swimming pool attended by my children.
I'd say that the majority of girls who are younger than 7 wear bikini bottoms.

Definitely start charging Rosa! My friend in England charges £100 for a birthday cake (sponge) and £200 and upwards for a wedding cakey type!

Francagoestohollywood · 17/09/2010 13:11

100 pounds!!! Wow, that's Gatullo's prices!! Grin

Rosa · 17/09/2010 13:17

Oh I am not that good I just done fun ones that started for family but now seems to have expanded. Pictures are on dh side of the computer and I have no idea how to get them . LAst week I went to a sort of friends house and helped her with a spongebob. SHe bought everything and I just took my food colorings and instruments. I was there 2 hrs . DOmani I am doing a hello kitty for a friends twins. I have known them since they were in spazio cuccioli. It shouldn't take me that long I hope . Then tues its nipotina and I am trying to do a dog something which I will attempt on Sunday as dh is home and then will construct if it works on Tues . Plus it gives me time to think of a back up if I stuff up.
Then dd1 maestra has asked if I will help with a cake for a friends 30th. Again she says she will buy everything bu I have just found out that she is allergic to latte so its going to be far more complicated. I am just not sure at when I draw the line and with who or should it be whom Grin

Rosa · 17/09/2010 13:18

Oh and BTW when ist a largish one I buy the pan di spagna its far easier !!!!

Francagoestohollywood · 17/09/2010 13:25

Lol yes, it is difficult to decide where to draw a line. You can't charge the maestra I suppose Grin

Hi guys, I wonder whether you still remember me after all this time. Have only read the last page, but glad people seem to fine- how exciting the first day of school (even in Italy- I thought it would not be until next week)...
All well at this end, though London is cold, cold cold after 6 weeks in Italy.

SuiGeneris · 17/09/2010 20:34

Hi Franca- loved your message on the other thread. I read it without noticing the nickname and thought "how sensible, like that" and then saw it was you. Very much you, in fact! Smile

Francagoestohollywood · 18/09/2010 14:26

Hello SG, I love those weddings threads! And if I can remotely and reluctantly "understand" that children might not be welcome to a wedding, it always amazes me that even infants are banned!
I saw the pics of master SG you posted in fb, he is just gorgeous!
Rainy and cold today in Milan, uffa
