A few moments ago. It is, sadly, about £10k less than asking price but still gives us about £30k equity if we accept it.

I really want to accept it and get the move back on, especially after the nighmares of the last year.

DH wants to think. He has asked the agents to do a finacial check on the potential buyers - apparantly they have no property to sell and are currently looking into whether to pay cash or mnartgage. lso to consider with agent whether to see if they will pay more.

But I really just want to sell...I know I should be more like DH, but I can't.

Already my heart is going mad, had palpatations and the stress levels have risen. daft I know; but been here before - 8 months of nightmare last time.

Please let this be okay, and for a sale to happen....

As DD gets older it will become less of an issue too. The gardens are fully enclosed, and the kitchen overlooks the garden too. It is on a really nice new estate, close to Derbyshire border. There is even a new park that has been built on the estate itself.

Congratulations on your offer Hulababy and hope todays house hunting goes well.

We are still trying to sell our house. As we have moved out long ago, we are now thinking about renting it out. Don't want the hassle, but have to do something....

Hulababy · 23/07/2005 09:31

Good luck lonelymum.

Renting was our next option too. We had done the initial look into it, and if we hadn't sold by end of August we were planning on renting.

The people who have bought here are planning on renting it out.

We have bought a house

Brand new stone built 3 bed 3 storey town house. On edge of Sheffield, near derbyshire border. Can see cows from our windows. On a very family orientated esate - even has a privately maintained park for the children. Mollie tested it today And there are two lovely country pubs within a short walk away.

We got a great deal too

Will be ready end of September, which should be fine in fitting in with our apartment sale. Apartment may sell quicker than that...but DH will see what he can do regarding matching the completion dates.

Feel really excited - chose the kitchen, flooring and tiling today. Added the extras we wanted, and been to John Lewis to get prices for the things we need to buy

Nr Derbyshire border - sounds like Fulwood/Crosspool perhaps??? If I ever moved back to Sheffield that's where I'd be looking - something just on the edge - Sounds great

Hulababy · 02/08/2005 17:01

Hi bobs; it is that way out yes. It is a bit further out at Lodge Moor, so right on the edge of Sheffield/Derbyshire border really. It is the old Lodge Moor Hospital site.

Well done Hula. Your new house sounds amazing. Hav eyou thought about packing yet? (I know I haven't)

Gobbledigook · 02/08/2005 17:14

Lonelymum - ditto. We moved out in Jan and still haven't sold ours. Mega, mega depressing, not to mention expensive. It's costing us an arm and a leg. Now paying council tax on both houses too - almost £300 a month before you even get to the mortgage.

The thing about renting is all the regulations and responsibility that goes with it. Plus, won't it be difficult to sell while it's rented?

Gobbledigook · 02/08/2005 17:15

Oops sorry, congratulations Hula!

Hulababy · 02/08/2005 17:17

No not yet northerner. Tempting fate I think.

We went to see it again today. The roof is on and the doors and windows on. The builders were working inside and out today DD had a play on the playground on site too, which she loves.

Also been shopping today and ordered some furniture for the new place. We knew some it will take 6-8 weeks, and all of it can be cancelled if the move goes pear shaped.

Have a huge list of things to buy, slowing ticking them off. Just glad we have that £20k cash back!

I just found www.helpiammoving.com
Great site!

Hulababy · 02/08/2005 17:20

Ooh thanks The checklists may be very useful!

Do you have a moving date at all?

Ours is supposed to be end of September, but that's all we know at moment.

lydz · 02/08/2005 17:22

We moved out of our house a year ago and it's still unsold, costing us an absolute fortune, while we're living in a flat (moved 120 miles for work purposes and new school so can't even move back into it). Hopefully will get it back on the market in Sept once we've sorted out a couple of things and hope to god it sells for a good price to make up for our losses over the last year...

Hulababy · 02/08/2005 17:23

Good luck lydz

But congrats on selling yours Hulababy, I'm not really jealous (well maybe a little!)

Hulababy · 02/08/2005 17:25

No worries I have been green with envy about everyone selling when I wasn't previously. It is the most stressful thing ever I am sure.

Fingers crossed you get a sleer soon.

Lovely area Hula - I was born at Claremont Hospital - not far away!

Hulababy · 03/08/2005 11:03

No it's not.

The area will be a complete change for us. We are right in the city centre at the moment, just off West Street, in a city apartment. So, living out at Lodge Moor will be very different - but good different I hope.

We have been warned about the weather. Just hope our cars will be able to cope in the winter.

OP posts:
moonshine · 03/08/2005 11:11

Am very jealous. I've just made an offer for a house this morning which was quickly rejected and don't think we can match, never mind better, another buyer's offer. This is my first proper experience of buying from an open market and it is truly HORRIBLE (polite word).

Hulababy · 03/08/2005 11:12

Good luck moonshine.

There has to be an easier way to buy and sell, surely? One that doesn't send us all into nervous wrecks.

OP posts:
moonshine · 03/08/2005 11:15

Yes, but could be marketed as the 'Your stomach churns so much you can't eat and burn off more calories' diet!

Thanks and good luck with your move .

Hulababy · 03/08/2005 11:16

LOL; not for me though. I resorted to comfort eating when it got really bad with the lat nightmare buyer.

OP posts:
clary · 03/08/2005 11:20

hey hula, just caught up with this, that's fantastic news!
So pelased for you and new house sounds lovely.
Nearer to Derbys too, has to be good for derby meet-ups!!
cxx

Hulababy · 03/08/2005 11:21

Should be

Further away from work though, but I finish at 2:15 each day now so I miss all the traffic anyway.

Still really excited, espcially after visiting yesterday and seeing them getting on with it.

OP posts:
Hulababy · 08/08/2005 08:49

Been to see new place again yesterday. Took PILs to have a look round the show house (same as ours). Our actual house now has a small patio area and a path round side. And they are laying the top soil for the garden. Looks like they are doing stuff inside too, as we could see plenty of boxes and units through the patio doors.

DD enjoyed another play on the playground there too. And we tried out the local pub for sunday ,munch too, which was great

Still very excited
