You are a very lucky woman to have three such lovely children.

SamboM · 18/06/2003 23:51

How sweet is that!

You are blessed with the best thing(s)

suedonim · 19/06/2003 05:40

Aw, that's when it's all worthwhile, isn't it, Custy.

Ghosty · 19/06/2003 08:49

I really hope my DS is like that when he grows up custy .... you are really lucky!
You know it is also a reflection on your parenting ....

WideWebWitch · 19/06/2003 09:17

Ahhh, they sound great Custy. Well done and congratulations. I so often seem to moan about mine on mumsnet and yet he is the sweetest, most gorgeous boy. For all the tough bits of bringing them up you really wouldn't change it for anything would you? He makes me laugh a lot and quoted Tinker's dd at me the other night (must have heard me telling dp about it) "I might have got cross but I'm only 5 and you've had 36 years to learn to control your temper mummy" - he was imitating me as he said it, which involves hands on hips and a raised eyebrow. Bless!

Clearly a reflection of your brilliant parenting custy Well done you x

lou33 · 19/06/2003 09:34

Can you take a couple of mine for a while Custardo? I'll collect them when they leave school.

Marina · 19/06/2003 11:18

Custy, if mine is as loving and helpful in six years' time I will be very proud of him. You are a great mum!

abbysmum · 19/06/2003 11:53

That's really lovely! How old are they all? I hope mine grow up so well!

serenab · 19/06/2003 12:01

I haven't posted before, but I 've been checking this site for a while, and I have to say that as an American who has recently moved to England I find these sentiments really beautiful. Most english women I know really don't praise their kids - someone told me they thought it was because the English thought that was boastful or something. Well, I think that's a crying shame, and I'd like Custardo to know that she sounds like a really super loving Mom who is blessed with three wonderful kids who are a credit to her. God bless you.

motherinferior · 19/06/2003 12:07

Custy, how lovely.

lilibet · 19/06/2003 12:20

Well said custy. Actually, we could do some pairing up, one of my ds's with your dd and my dd with one of your ds's. They sound ideal son/daughter in law material especially coming fro good northern stock!!

and we could be MILs from hell together!!

auntbessie · 19/06/2003 12:43

I can't believe this thread! "Self promotion" is spot on.

Any one ever heard of modesty?

auntbessie · 19/06/2003 12:50

what if your daughter wasn't slim?

sis · 19/06/2003 12:52

Good stuff custardo! I hope you carry on praising them on here and to them(IYKWIM!). They sound lovely!

WideWebWitch · 19/06/2003 12:53

auntbessie, this is a perfectly nice thread where people are talking about being proud of their children. What on earth is wrong with that? If you don't like it, please don't read it.

lilibet · 19/06/2003 12:55

Auntbessie? you are joking? please tell me you are and my sense of humour is taking a lunchbreak?
this is a fantastic thread, why shouldn't we shout it from the rooftops that our children are the best in the world? And we all know that our own are!

GeorginaA · 19/06/2003 12:58

Can I join in please?

I wore a dress for the first time in ages the other day, and ds (2) but his arms up to be hugged, beamed at me and said "gorgeous!"

How good is that for the ego?!

M2T · 19/06/2003 13:00

Your eldest son sounds like my Brother, he's 14 and has always been very sensitive. I remember looking in the mirror a getting all upset at how much weight I put on after ds was born. He said to me "You haven't put on ANY weight sis, well not so much that I'd notice. SO stop worrying".

What a darling.

SamboM · 19/06/2003 13:00

I came in from work last night and my dd, 9.5 months, jigged up and down so much that she fell over backwards! She is doing this really cute sort of mega-smile at the moment where her whole face just crinkles up and it makes me nearly cry every time.

oliveoil · 19/06/2003 13:01

sorry to disappoint all you mums, but I reckon MY daughter is the most beautiful in the world AND she has the bluest eyes ever. Gorgeous. No modesty required thank you very much.

Holly02 · 19/06/2003 13:02

Auntbessie obviously has a bit of a problem and should probably be ignored. Custardo also said her daughter was hearing-impaired... not just 'slim'... so I thought that comment was a bit nasty.

Where do these people come from??!!

SamboM · 19/06/2003 13:04

Oliveoil i think you are wrong. MY daughter's eyes are so blue that everyone who meets her comments on them. People come up to me in the street and mention it. The queen even wrote to me to say she had heard...

oh ok that's v silly

breeze · 19/06/2003 13:04

Lovely thread, they sound lovely custardo.

DS on way back from out break told me today that I looked tired and maybe he should take over driving for a bit, am i likely to let a 3.5 year old drive?
