Hi All
I've been chatting here for a while now but sometimes feel as though I can't come on just as a mum because of my job as a journalist - it's so hard to switch off from work when I spent half my life writing about the subjects that we talk about here. Also I don't feel I have the anonimity that you all enjoy to talk freely about whatever problems etc I have because I;ve told everyone where I work - all you need to do is open the Mail most Thursdays and my ugly mug will be staring back at you.
So ... I've decided to sign off as rachel1969 and come back under a new name so that I can be a mum when I come on here.
But what I was hoping was that anyone who would like to be on a database I have of email addresses through which I send out cries for help on all the wierd and wonderful parenting/women's issues the Mail has me working on might send me their own emails.
If you do, don't tell me your chat name on mumsnet or you won't be anon yourselves anymore - do you get my drift??
I have a huge list of contacts who I email out to every week or so asking if they know anyone who might be relevent to what I;m working on - if they don't they just ignore it, if they do they help me out.
If anyone does fancy it - it can be quite amusing if nthing else, then please email me at [email protected]
Take care all
Rachel

Not sure I fancy the sound of that. Think of all that methane. Ermintrude could be responsible for a new hole in the ozone layer over Scotland!

All we can do really is wait, and the thought of a vindaloo Kale curry makes my stomach turn!

Can cows take cod liver oil? My mum swore by it, she said she had one spoonful in the morning, and by evening she was in labour. Apparently we all just shot out!!

A dog breeder I know heard that blackberry capsules can make the delivery easier. She claims that all 8 pups were born in record time and were a lovely shade of purple.
Hmmm, purple cows. Now theres a thought.

Ermentrude calved yesterday at 11.30am, both mother and daughter doing fine now. As it was a scorcher here yesterday the calf was not keen to sook, so out went me complete with shorts and trainers and got her a sook. Got up at 6.30 this morning to find Ermentrude lying flat on her side with Milk Fever and Staggers, so out comes the vet at 7.30 this morning. Milk fever and staggers are a result of 1. her being to fat, and 2 a lack of magnesium in her diet, so needless to say they now have their High Magnesium mineral buckets. The calf is gorgeous and has been named Kitty by my 2 and my friend from the small farm next to us 2 children. Oh I hope this weather stays put it is great, off to a wedding this after and had my hair poofered this morning, highlights and vegetable colour.

Everyone enjoy their weekend.

Wahey!!!! Well done Ermentrude! What's the new arrival to be called? Aww, I'm getting all broody now!
You must be chuffed to bits Tigger - it was all worth it wasn't it?!
I really feel for her in this weather - I wish them both well!
