How many pairs of shoes do your dc have, and what sort are they?

DD (year 4) currently has:

school shoes
mucky trainers
'nice' trainers
wellies (not sure if these still fit)

In the warm months, also has everyday sandals to play in, and a pair of 'nice' sandals (that usually are barely worn). Also confess to a pair of crocs !

Just curious as I've been on a children's shoe website that has categories for 'weekend shoes', 'party shoes' , 'boots', etc.

dd (yr4) has Startrite school shoes, trainers x2 for school, Clarks boots from last year(bought in sale), Accessorize silver ballet pumps from bridesmaid last year ,cheap trainers/casual shoes from Decathlon, wellies (probably too small but ok for garden on days like today, note to self:look out ds' castoffs) plus various dance shoes

ds(yr7) has Startrite school shoes, trainers x2 for school, soccer boots, Timberland trainers and wellies (see above)

plus walking boots and snow boots each

FabIsLosingThePlot · 15/11/2009 16:16

Mine all have school shoes, trainers, wellies and dd has nice shoes too.

Earlybird · 15/11/2009 16:17

Morosky - that is quite an impressive collection. Do your dd's feet grow slowly?

Fast growing feet is part of the reason why dd's shoe 'wardrobe' is so limited. I also have a non-frivolous mentality that stops me from buying expensive non-essential shoes that will be outgrown after being worn only a few times.

Do you order online (if so, links please!)?

Maybe I should indulge dd a bit more......

Based on responses, looks as if children have, on average, 6 pairs of shoes in 'active' use.

Given that children's feet grow so fast, and the fact that they are hard on their shoes - footwear really is quite an ongoing investment isn't it?

She needs some boots for the winter. She wants Uggs like mine, but I doubt it very much, lol!

Wheelybug · 15/11/2009 21:44

DD (4) has

School shoes
School plimsols (kept at school)
Party shoes
trainers
boots (ugg type)
wellies

Summer she had

Crocs
Doodles
Sandals
flip flops
Next summer - she would have school shoes + plimsols

(she still tells me she needs more shoes...)

Wheelybug · 15/11/2009 21:47

oh and I think I will get a grandmother buy her Lelli Kellys as a birthday present. She's desperate for them and I refuse to buy them.

DD2 (8 months) has
sheepskin boots
inch blue leather things

BUt wears neither pair because she takes them off and lobs them away along with the socks.
