After lots of umming and ahhing this week I have finally made a desicion.

I am going to go back to college and do the access course. Will give it my best shot and hopefully scrape through with enough marks to get into uni.

We still have big money probs at the mo but the biggest of these will be paid off by next march, and I am going to start budgeting properly.

I am still gonna keep an eye out for any jobs that i think could fit in or indeed a better job for dp. My friend is a weekend manager at BHS so i'm hoping prehaps I can apply for sundays there.

Thanks for all the advice, I know I moan on alot about this and i'm surprised you didn't all tell me to bugger off before now.

Don't worry, i'll be back moaning as soon as i'm stuck on an assignment

nutty, I wouldn't be too concerned out being guaranteed a uni place. It may differ form course to course but I was told that my particular access qualification (Radiography, one of only 2 Radiography access courses in England) was created especially for the uni I'll be applying to (UCE). Basically, the college went to UCE and asked them what qualities and skill-set they'd most like to see in their applicants for both Radiography BSc courses, the Uni gave their criteria and the college tailor made a course to fit. I was told that Unis like to encourage mature students, as they deem them to be more 'dedicated', IYSWIM. I was also told in most cases Access course qualifications are often given a bit more weight than bog standard A-Level passes. I should think that so long as you don't bomb on the course and the no of applicants to the degree isn't too mental, you can be pretty confident of a place. That certainly seems to be the case on the course I'll be joining, anyway.
