do you go if you can go anywhere?

It'll be next year but time goes by so quickly we're already thinking, but don't know where to go...

mmm, I love Suffolk. Southwold is known as Hampstead-by-Sea Its not all like that though, not that I dislike Southwold.....
Softfroggie, I'll have to have a graze on that website.

Thanks softfroggie - I think we probably can't afford Suffolk because we definitely want the land and an extra building or two.

The rural idyll is definitely no neighbours, house away from the quiet road, big rooms, a separate office/large store, broadband,

Something like this (which admittedly is too muchmoney)

I know, I'm sure you can find cheaper places that Suffolk, but you can find a more smallholding type thing for your money if you don't go right to the cost. Mid-suffolk or the Suffolk / Norfolk borders near Diss would be possible.

As it happens, Lemonice, I know and love that little village in Shropshire that your link went to. Yup, west Shropshire would be high on my 'settle anywhere' list. You've got hills there, but for real mountains you'd need to go into Wales. But you'd be quite a trip from the coast. Is there a nearish 2ndary school, or would the kids have to travel into Shrewsbury? Can't even remember whether Worthen has a primary school anymore? But it is FAB countryside round there.

I know, it's all 'potentially' at the mo, so you're not likely to buy that particular place.

Shucks bumpstobabes you have to wait I'm afraid, I am only able to think about this because I am old!!!

And dp is quite a lot less old so the combination make it possible.

We don't have to think about schools.

Some samples of what's on offer in NE Norfolk (not that I want you to come, it's lovely quiet up here...)

this onemakes me drool .
More charm .
Knapton
DH was looking at this in the paper over the w/end, Mundesley
Another one in Mundesley
This place has the best local primary school (reputedly).

although personally, I'd go to France myself!!

lemonice · 14/06/2005 11:30

Zz yes drool house is very nice and also quite like no 3 on your list seem more for money than Suffolk.

I need some French ones to look at now..

I think it is the house that we want to find and then see if we like the location and facilities ie backwards to most people dream house then we will go there if all else fits..

Thanks for your searches everyone..this is inspiring me to have a clear out..

Yes, we bought the cottage to see if we would like it in that area. We do but I want to buy big out there and downsize here.
