XAusted, I had forgotten about counting! With DDs 1 and 2 I never got past 3 because they were petrified of the (unspecified) consequences - what a scary mum that must have been! (For some reason it didn't work with the DSs.)

My biggest nag - my kids being older - is put your shoes away put your coat away put your lunchbox in the kitchen take your backpack upstairs have you got any homework I don't care if it's not due in till next week do it now do I really have to say all this every day how small is your brain anyway?????

I've suddenly overnight discovered I say "NO!" fifty million times a day. Trying to intersperse with other phrases... e.g.
